I have to admit a couple things, first being that I am not a sports fan and secondly I do not relish the idea of the Kardashians being a topic to talk about. However Lamar is connected to them and it cannot be avoided.
I have a soft spot in me that loves ridiculing the Kardashians, I see them as white trash in Prada to be honest. A family of business greedy misfits who use the misdirected path of their lives to make money. Sadly those who have been hurt the most through their efforts for fame and money are those who have married into it.
I could go on and on on this and highlight each and every person who has been damaged through association with them but that would be boring. I will say this though, the day that Lamar overdosed is the same day that Scott (Kourtney’s on and off boyfriend and father of her child) entered rehab… again for addiction.
Moving on, that brings up the Lamar topic, addiction. I was not aware he was an addict although after doing some research online it would appear that this is not new news.
A quick professional history first though: “Lamar Joseph Odom (born November 6, 1979)is an American professional basketball player who is currently a free agent. As a member of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association (NBA), he won NBA championships in 2009 and 2010 and was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2011.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamar_Odom
From all articles I have read Lamar was a good man, good friend and good role model to those close to him. No, drugs would not indicate that but then again they are or were something he did very privately, even if his errors hit the news.
What gets me is this, he was a suffering soul. He suffered family loss and friend loss due to drugs. One may ask “if he knows the dangers of drugs first hand, why was he doing them?”. As a person who used to use drugs and have seen people die doing them, even those close to me the answer is simple. We either think “it won’t happen to me” or “If it happens it happens”.
“If it happens it happens” is a really scary place to be in, let me tell you from experience! You literally don’t care, you size up your life and say “it is what it is” and ride the wave, win or lose. Lamar and Khloe K. (his wife) had been in divorce proceedings since 2013 and just about everything that goes on in the life of a Kardashian or the poor victims they drag with them is aired for the world to see.
I don’t imagine that bodes well for a former all star NBA player who has been struggling with loss of family and friends and his own addictions very well.
As everyone knows by now, Lamar was found in a Las Vegas brothel unconscious after 3 days of cocaine and herbal sexual performance pills. I will refrain from talk of immorality because to be honest… who defines that? Everyone and that leaves it pretty subjective. Brothels outside the Vegas city limits are legal and thats all there is to that.
My guess? It wasnt a cocaine overdose, it was a combination overdose. Cocaine and likely dehydration mixed with 10+ herbal pills was probably a bad mix and had a tragic affect. Basically, a major “OOPS!”.
This morning I read that Lamar who had been reported multiple times as being “brain dead” came to life and was responding to questions, even if faintly. Apparently not so brain dead after all! Way to go Lamar! My sincerest hope is that he recovers and then runs like a jack rabbit froma a brush fire to get away from the Kardashians!
It must seem that I am putting all the blame on the Kardashians huh? Well, Lamar is responsible for his actions but I won’t lie, if that family gave one crap about him or anyone else I think he wouldn’t be where he is now.
“In recent days too, the Kardashians refused to stop exploiting Odom on that reality show, turning what appeared to be a lost soul in crisis reaching out to his ex-wife only to have his phone calls manufactured into Khloe-Kim argument fodder for one more dreadful episode.” https://sports.yahoo.com/news/between-the-bright-lights-and-darkness–lamar-odom-is-burdened-with-his-own–true-hollywood-story-231906633.html
I REST MY CASE!
Get well Lamar!
