Oops! It Was A Wrong Number

Just a few days ago, I came back from my evening walk only to find a missed call from a number unknown to me. But then going by the fact that a lot of other things follow after calls from anonymous persons, I did not bother to call back. So after sometime I actually got a call from the same number and on picking it up, the unknown caller on the other end mumbled something I could not comprehend.

So the caller was a man and I used the ‘Kiswahili’ language telling him that we are not communicating because he is using a language that I did not understand. The caller thus switched to ‘Swahili’ and asked me if I was ‘Edward’ and according to him, he had business with the owner of the number which in this case was mine. I told him that I was not Edward but he quickly asked me if the number was really mine since he was given the number by the’ Edward’ for contacting him later so that they could furnish the business idea together. But I told him that maybe he had my number due to an error of one digit but he read my number aloud to confirm that he was really having my number as that of the aspiring business partner.

He still could not believe that he was talking to the wrong recipient and confirmed my number for three more times until he realized that he may have been dubbed by the other guy. I didn’t get to know what the two had discussed in order to attract for later follow ups but I could notice the uneasiness in his voice as he apologized and then hang up.

Advances in technology have its ups and downs but we ought to be careful when dealing with strangers since the society has all sorts of gangs and you never know what it in store for getting involved in doubtful deals.

Based On a True Story! He was already sick and tired of hard work the life that seemed so hollow in his way of life. The void within was enlarging every single day and his desires to see another day was slimming down to a tiny dot of despair. His only hope was in his young family— the people who made him work even harder to pup some food on the table every evening.

The biggest worry for him was his lifestyle. He only saw time counting down to nothingness, but the results were very minimal to note for a person like him. All he wanted was something to hang on and stay alive for some days to come. Being hopeful for a day— someday!

One day, the chilly night welcomed unseen visitors. He could hear them talking in hashed voices, sometimes walking into house-hold utensils which then gave way to crushing onto the hard surface breaking into small pieces. The wive and her ten year old cried and ran outside leaving the man in the house alone to face the invisible beast.

Surprisingly, a smoothly curved Swahili language salutation from a female being got his ears. He could not resist to answer the ghost back that he was fine but somehow terrified. The ghost told him not to worry because they would be having long relationship in future. The voice bid him fair well and went away.

The terrified mother of one went back in the house and sat there on the coach waiting for morning to come. When it broke, she tool her son and went to her parents.

From then, the fear built a home in his stomach. Every day seemed like a new day. The ghost kept coming to him everyday, and her favorite part was sexual pleasures she got from him. Sad that she even invited her invisible friends to her favorite man.

One day, she drove him into the sea to meet her master. He got a chance to see the mermaid who had been sleeping with him for a year of so— and all her friends looked just like her.

He was done! He sought for assistance from a powerful man of God who delivered him from the haunting
