Drunk and a believer in witchcraft

When some people take alcohol they tend to usher in a new character of being talkative even if by nature, they are quiet. I have always heard people saying that drunkards mean nothing serious going by what they open their mouths to say since they are manipulated by the liquor. Even anyone who picks a fight with a drunkard is faulted and told that he or she should know that drunkards are very foolish in this state.

So I have known this ice seller for quite some time as a hardworking young man who does his work with a lot of passion. Just a few weeks ago in the evening, the young man who was drunk was shouting at the top of his voice giving a warning to his behind the scenes person if he continues disturbing his peace. He went ahead and said that he comes from an area where witchcraft is custom to bring sanity to evil doers. But then nobody could tell to whom his threats were directed to and so people just watched in silence.

Then just yesterday, the young man again repeated his initial threats of taking someone to a witchdoctor and immediately he said this, two young men appeared and told him to either keep mum or better get about his business and leave that place. It was then to emerge that the two men had been abusing him for quite some time and funny enough the two had been summoned by the area chief who asked them to make peace with this young man.

The crowd was now growing bigger with some teasing this young man that he was adamant of going to a witchdoctor, so let him act in real not only empty talk. Others told him as he was a believer in non-existent powerful people who are out to get money from anyone who trusts them, then he was good to go wasting his hard earned cash.

Alcohol is Reducing Our Young People To a Pulp

For mothers and the wives to the men who were enslaved to the second generation brews, their ban by the government came in handy. They were termed illegal brews since they had adverse effects on our young people —falling everything apart when it comes to their families, career just to mention a few.

And true to every word that the president directed, the fight against these brews became a nationwide fight and everyone was working towards a common goal and this was to save the young people from this menace. Sights of the young people drenched in these brews and sleeping in trenches was slowly becoming a thing in the past.

Everything turned just fine but after one month, those in this illegal business regrouped vowing to come back with a bang. So sad I have heard complains in the national radio that these brews are already back in a number of areas.

And just yesterday, I listened to an interview in a weekend radio show that was evidence that these ’poisons’ are really back to undo the good work done. This man admitted that he was drunk and has always been drunk quite some time though he could not really remember for how long he has been in that sorry state. Asked the whereabouts of his wife, he replied that his wife had long abandoned him due to his drunkenness habit.

On being enquired if they had children together he was  quick to point out that the kids were not his own and all he did was to cater for their needs, reason being him fathering a child was not possible as he would run away at the sight of a woman. Then he had a strong odour unpleasant smell and he said that he does not usually take a shower.

So one wonders, how many men out there are stuck in this lost lifestyle all in the name of this illegal brews by a greedy lot at the expense of others. They may put their money preying business first but payback time will eventually follow their backs due to the tears of their suffering families.

When a Fool Expects To Be Wiser When Drunk

Great people think well and make decisions when sober. These are wise people that we have in the society. Then we have another breed of foolish lot who have no say to what concerns them until they become high on alcohol or on any mental influencing means— bad that they also expect people to say how wise they are by doing so. Gladly, I like standing on the fence to see fools strangle themselves trying to force words of praises from people’s mouths.

In what I understand, people choose to be drunk for different reasons. We have those that find pleasure in hard liquor as it makes them peaceful and good loving people. Then we have the crowd that consumes alcohol because they have a point to put across to someone, whom then just can face when sober.

Like recently, this guy asked me a very foolish question and people who were around found it so amusing that they burst up laughing. Oops! The fool thought he had pinned me in a tight spot that he kept on pushing for answers.

I lost my temper but instead of attacking his with one boiling question, I faced those who were encouraging him and asked, ‘What is so funny about his questions…don’t you see that this guy is a drunkard fool?

You know what! The crowd left and the drunken fellow staggered off thinking that he had won a war against a mighty wise man.

Life is smart on its own. We do not have to keep searching for status that we do not have in life.

We have to accept our ways of life as is because if we go on forcing up things to happen, we might lose that little we already had and the remainder is always worse than what you wished for.

What you become when drunk defines what kind of trash you like keeping in mind when you are sober. Wise people just don’t keep unnecessary things in their mind. Got that?
