School Dressing Code

school dress code

It is most schools norm to have a well outlined dressing code that acts as a guide on what children should wear and what not to while at school.

But there are a few cases where some parents feel that their child should not really be subjected to a certain dressing code rule. Some will have religious beliefs to support their actions.Like this form one girl who failed to get admission to a secondary school due to her long hair. The school required all their students to shave their hair for them to be admitted to the school.

But the girl belonged to a church that believed that it was disrespectful to God for a woman to shave her head clean. The girls parents felt that it was a violation of the girl’s freedom of worship and a right to education. The girl was ready to be admitted to another school so long as she kept her long hair.

Then another scenario involving a 9-year old boy who had dreadlocks in a certain city school. This did not go well with the school administration and the boy was suspended. The boy was required to shave off the dreadlocks in order to continue learning in the institution. The boy’s mother felt that her son was discriminated against and so she sued the school.

But the presiding judge of the case dismissed it on grounds that the boy was not able to prove that his religious and cultural rights have been violated in any way.The judge said that it was clear that the dreadlocks were solely for fashion .And since the boy’s mother had signed to agree to the school’s rules and regulations, then she had no option but to respect them.

I think that parents should know that a school is a learning institutions that ought to be governed well for the good of their children.

The future of their children is more important and that is why we have schools to model them.

Parenting, Responsibilities To Underage Children

Who Should be responsible for underage children?

[perform_ad w=”auto” utg=”true” utt=”true”][/perform_ad]

By definition of  underage, it depends on each country or we should go global perspective which defines an underage person to be below eighteen(18) years of age.

To some parents, a child is a child whatever the age the person is. It also depends on the income status- working or jobless, dependent or independent etc. They see it as duty or responsibility to provide care, love and encouragement until the person moves out to begin a new life…

But we have another category of parents who have no time for their children. They do not even have a clue what children do when alone out there. And making children feel like strangers at home.

To them, children are like the worst liability that comes in life and they seem not to care about children go about in their private life.

We see children as young as below the age five (5) going to school unaccompanied or worse, playing dirty games with other children.

When we come to the use electronics, children might be accessing sensitive information and materials on televisions, internet or in real life without being warned against such behaviors. It is like raring free range domestic animals in your land, what you want to see is that they are free and you have all the time to do what you want without interference from anything or anyone.

Sad that when the situation gets out of hand, that is the time one will run trying to salvage the situation when already too late.

As a parent, it is your responsibility to know your child better than anyone else out there. Try to control what they see, feel and hear as much as possible.

Caring for a growing child is fun, but sometimes it gets nasty. Having a loving heart brings everything inline with your desires for that child. Your future and your child’s life in future is determined by what you do to it when young. Parental love should be the leading aspect in raising children, nothing other.

The moment she set her daughter’s hand on fire, than onlookers praised her up for her courage in administering discipline in her child!

Such disturbing, crazy move by a parent has left me wondering why she should do this to her only child. , and I guess someone else whose heart can feel something would back me up on this. It was then that an angry mother reacted negatively, resulting in head injury and death, so a getting an injury lawyer from sites as https://njdwiesq.com/ is necessary in cases like this.

What is happening in this world?

Why the Law Is Mute About Child Abuse

[perform_ad w=”auto” utg=”true” utt=”true”][/perform_ad]

This kind of brutality against children should not be tolerated or encouraged in our society. In fact, the law prohibits corporal punishments- not only in schools but also protects children against lawless parents.

Sad that many of us do not like getting involved in other people’s problems… living in self-denial that we are much better off than others are and that the law enforcement duty should be left to the police. The courts make determinations about the length and amount of spousal support that is needed.

That is one reason why as the small girl was crying for help, other people were encouraging the mother to go ahead with her beastly act.

I hate evil…

How Genuine Street Beggars Get Raw Deal in Nairobi

“Do not pick it, leave it alone.”

I finally saw the light and reason why a genuine beggar would stand there on the streets with a cup for collection of money from well-wishers but ends up having nothing at all because someone is so afraid of being a pauper in Nairobi.

It came to me one day when I was walking on the streets of Nairobi. I was in accompany of a friend of mine, smartly dressed and a show of high status in our society. The guy was bragging about his life and how his success in business which elevated him into the life he always dreamt of.

The Value Of A Coin

[perform_ad w=”auto” utg=”true” utt=”true”][/perform_ad]

“You know what buddy… every coin that comes in your pocket is all that matters when you’re in business like mine…’’ The person was saying to me.

I wondered why he was telling me all that in public place. All I needed was a quick delivery of package and off. His business and his wealth was his secret that no one else should care about, leave alone talking about it on top of his voice and laughing exaggeratedly on simple issues.

Genuine Needy Person

There was a beggar who had disabilities on both legs and his hand too indicated some weaknesses. The friend of mine looked at him and started searching for something in his pockets. After some seconds of fruitless effort, he turned to me and asked, “Do you have some coins, I need to give him something, but it seems I have high value currency notes with me…” Blah blah blah… I saw it fit to give him a twenty shillings coin that he handed it over to the needy man. In his words, he said that his coins end on the streets…not buying from hawkers but giving them away to those who need them the most.

Negative Thought About Street Coin

We reached on a busy street. There was a ten-shilling coin being kicked and stepped on by passersby. I made up my mind to pick it up but he told me not to because it was a shameful act… I reminded him that ‘there are those who need it the most’, but he insisted that it was of no use. I picked it anyway and later gave it away because that was my intention.

Fake Beggar Revealed

We were in public transport vehicle, commonly known as Matatu, when I was surprised to see him give away my twenty-shilling coin as bus fare. I thought he gave it away to the beggar but he tricked me and kept the money for himself…. I understood why he had to say that ‘every coin that comes in his pocket is what matters in his business.’

Oops! It is so hard to deal with fake beggars in Nairobi as genuine needy persons stuck with nothing but time to wait.
