The Final Day of the Legend of Korra
In 24 hours, the final episodes of the Legend of Korra will go live. It has been a long journey to get here, but as a fa, I cannot believe it. This is not the first time I sat through the finale of a show I watched since the beginning, and it won’t be the last. Still, seeing the show go is saddening.
I’m an animation geek. I know shows like this come and go, but only a few series reach the status as the Avatar franchise has.
I remember a lot of the characters by name, and a part of me feel like I know them personally, even though none of them were my creations. That’s the mark of a great television show. I will cherish the memories I had with the show for the rest of my life.
With the series ending, I have to find another series to take its place. Great television does not come around very often. Most problems is mediocre at best. This goes for both animated and live action fare, but doubly so for animation which still carries the “is for kids” stereotype.
The DC Comics shows do come close. I’m enjoying Gotham, the Flash, and Arrow to keep my interest. Arrow is especially interesting as I still have seen the first season and half. It’s not at the Korra level, but it is not far off.
In the meantime, I have to prepare to review the last two episode of Korra for Toon Radio. I can figure out what I will do after those are done. I loved doing the Korra reviews, and I still need more content for both of my blogs, and not just for my own interests.
I got a few hours left to consider my options though. If you have any good shows to watch, feel free to post them in the comments below.
