Stylish is the Prompt for Today

The dapper people of the Daily Post division of Word Press smartly chose the word “Stylish” for today’s prompt.

Never Followed The Latest Trends

Preferred to exist on the tried and true ways.  Black jeans (cared for like they where dress pants) got mistaken by many others as a fresh pressed pair of black well fitting dressy pants.  Was not my fault they could not tell the difference!  Had an employee that reported to me actually comment the reason I probably got the promotion was the fact I always wore dress pants!  He laughed hysterically when I pointed out the pants where just well cared for jeans.  He started emulating my dressing habits.

What was In Fashion When You Where In School?

All threw my educational years from kindergarten to graduation with my Bachelor’s degree from college. Jeans where the thing to wear each day!  My first employment was on our family’s dairy farm.  Wore my rattiest jeans to work there.  My first full time job during college was at a company that supported dairy farmers, so jeans where acceptable there, too!  Face it, I lived in jeans and polo style shirts my whole life.

My next employers required a stricter dress code.  Had to invest in actual dress pants and matching jackets to appear in the highly developed business environments located in major cities like the Chicago-metro area of IL.  The pay was a lot better in that situation, so affording the clothing was not a problem!

Retirement Has Relaxed My Needed Clothing Requirements

Still use Jeans during the cooler months of the year!  Along with sweat pants when I am at home.  Between the months of warmer months of March and October, I wear shorts around the house and occasionally out in public.  Granted I retired much earlier than planned due to health problems.

Please Help Fight Evil Disease

Found out I had the disease a little over a year after graduation from college.  The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis currently is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. Passionate is the Prompt for Today

The fervent people at the Daily Post division of Word Press were able to tear themselves grudgingly away from their desires to select “Passionate” as today’s prompt.

My Husband and Our Cat Are My Main Passions

The cat seems to prefer to bite me, only when my husband is in the area.  When he travels off for business trips or leaves for a few days of vacation the cat behaves perfectly.  The two get along fine when my hubby sits in his recliner and the animal jumps up to get petted.  The two sometimes fall asleep together in the chair.  So I safely reason that the feline is not scared of him.  Do not have a clue about why the cat gets the desire to use me as a chew toy, sometimes.

Have Been Passionate About My Husband Since First Speaking Over The Phone

The boy sounded just like my grandpa (in mannerisms and beliefs).  Yeah he was a little older than me, a year and a few months, but was able to relax me with the sound of his voice.  I was still attending college full-time and he was working on a night shift at the local G.E. plant.  So are schedules had trouble messing at first.

Eventually, he resigned from the plant to work in delivering chemicals for a local small business who sold cleaning supplies to other small companies.  Worked there for a few months until the business had to close due to lack of customers.  From there he got employed by a lumber and hardware supply store.   About that time my room mate moved out of my apartment.  Managed to convince my now boy friend to move in with me to conserve on costs of living!

After I graduated from college (literally the next day) we got married at the church we had both been attending together for a couple of years.  He took the weekend off from work since we honeymooned out of town (just a couple of towns away).  I took a week off to finish all the legal paperwork required when you change your name.  New driver’s licenses, insurance policies, you know all the important stuff when you are just starting out!

Years Down The Road

I was hired by a network engineering firm.  The branch I was to be with was our of the Chicago-metro area.  This meant we would both have to resign our old jobs and move to a different state of the country. Using a U-Haul paid for by my new employers I drove my car, while my husband drove the U-Haul pulling his pick-up truck.  I had the address of the apartment we would be renting.

Keeping my eyes peeled looking for signs to the suburb we needed, saw a sign pointing off with an arrow in the opposite direction in which I currently heading.  Made an abrupt U-turn forgetting that there was a vehicle pulling another vehicle trying to follow me.  Puled over in a parking lot to let the U-Haul catch up with me.  We got the maps out to locate where exactly how much farther we needed to travel.  Laughingly we discovered we had about a block to our new home!  The manager’s office was closed, so we just left the moving truck with a note explaining we would meet them at opening time tomorrow morning.

Set off in search of a hotel room to sleep in for the night.  Upon paying for our night’s stay I inquired where was a good place to get a decent supper.  The lady suggested a moderately priced restaurant.  Turned out it became one of our favorites while remaining in the area for the next 18 months.  Went to the hotel with leftovers from our meals for tomorrow’s breakfast.

Perplexed is the Prompt for Today

The confused people at the Daily Post division of Word Press came to a puzzling decision by choosing “Perplexed” as the prompt for us to generate our various works of art around for today.

Spend Most of My Time Confused These Days

This is probably just another annoying side effect of the mind stealing disease my family has been cursed with more commonly known as Multiple Sclerosis.  All the females on my mother’s side of the family got their diagnoses after I left the state in which I had grown up to attend college.  Started visiting a chiropractor there for my back troubles.

Finding Out The Truth

After several months of seeing him for adjustments, he finally sent me to get a M.R.I. of my spine taken, because my body wasn’t responding like a normal persons does to having repetitive spinal manipulations.  Something else had to be wrong!  He told me the procedure was just like having an X-ray taken of my whole body.

Boy was he wrong!  You are forced to lie completely still while they feed you body into a very loud machine.  The noise wasn’t the problem, the tiny tube I was forced into was.  I happen to be claustrophobic, just like my mom.  Made it trough the first round of the machine’s views, but then they brought me back out of the tube (ESCAPED ALIVE, I thought to myself) then a lady approached me with the most hideously shaped needle I had ever seen, so I jumped off the table!  Mind you my head was still strapped down where they had tried to secure me for the test.  Head still strapped down, both feet trying to reach the floor (am short), I was going nowhere fast!

All she was trying to do was inject the needed contrast dye into my veins so they could make the scared areas of my brain and spine stand out better.  Since I had definitely moved my body’s positioning, the M.R.I. session was over.  She helped me escape from the place my head had been forced into.  And told me to return to the dressing room where I had left my clothes.

Last Time At The Chiropractor’s Office

Came into a completely empty waiting area.  (Normally was full of people expecting to see one of the chiropractors.)  This put me one edge.  Signed in at the receptionist’s desk, and took a seat in one of the chairs in the waiting area.  Since I always was early for my appointments, grabbed one of the magazines from the shelves, like normal.  Since there appeared to be no one else in the office, didn’t re-read the old ratty magazine.  After about ten minutes a nurse called me in like normal.  Started to take off my shoes, but she told me it would not be necessary.  I was just supposed to wait for the doctor in the chair instead of on the table.  A few minutes later the chiropractor came in to tell me he would no longer be of any use to me.

I either had Spinal Cancer or Multiple Sclerosis.  From what I had told him he said he thought it would be M.S. but he could not be sure without a complete M.R.I. being run.  Told me to have the people at the reception desk schedule me an appointment with a neurologist, because would need one for which ever disease it turned out to be!

Youth is the Prompt for Today

The elderly people at the Daily Post division of Word Press would like us to create works of art to symbolize what the word “Youth” means to you.

Learning by Making Mistakes

Made tons of errors in my younger days.  Still make mistakes even today, but I never make the ones twice!  Guess that is what they mean by the wisdom of the older generations.  Yeah, they made mistakes but hopefully learned from their follies!

What really tends to be annoying is all the fun I had making those mistakes back in my younger days.  Remember working all lot on the farm, but in my few hours off had a blast with my friends from town!  Would drag them with me to help out in chores occasionally, but they rarely could hold up against my work load for long.  Didn’t get my actual driver’s licence until I was over 16 years old, but drove on public roads after the age of 14.  Drove on farm property starting at the wise old age of 12 (was so short had to use blocks on the brake and gas pedals)!

There was the One Single Time

At the end of my Junior year of High school, when I drank a part of a can of beer at a senior’s graduation party.  Tasted nasty!  But unfortunately did not keep me from getting hooked on drinking harder liquors when I entered college.

Carry is the Prompt for Today

The weaklings at the Daily Post division of Word Press want us to think of creating works of art representing the word “Carry“/

Music First

Carry On My Wayward Son by the music group Kansas.

Try to Lug Your Canoe Across Land

That is how the Native American Indians used to carry their possessions from place to place.  Tribes relocated following food sources back in the old days.  My Great Grandmother passed away long before I was born.  She may have had to deal with these life experiences in her time.  Unfortunately, I truly doubt she did because she was confined on a federal reservation for her “kind”.  Talk about discrimination!

Never got to Engage in a Conversation with Her

Wish I had been able to meet her!  Grandpa says I think just like she did.  We could have carried on for hours about the disrespect young people show their elders today!  Do you have any ancestors you wish you could have met?[polldaddy poll=9498586]

Live my life carrying guilt about the problems I have caused my family due to my crappy health problems.  On the positive side, at least I no longer have to transport heavy bales of hay!

Confused Is Prompt For Day

The perplexed people at the Daily Post group of Word Press actually managed to make a clear choice for the prompt of the day of the word “Confused” for our art works to be based on.

Am Always Bewildered Lately

Have absolutely no idea how I get myself into these muddled messes.  Went with bright and clear shining eyes into asking the man I ended up marrying to marry me.  He turned around and dashed my dreams of happiness with him against the cave walls in the nearest park.  Flat out told me NO!  He wasn’t ready, yet.

We had already picked out our wedding rings.  Talk about confusion.  Either he liked me or not, he was the man I wanted to live the rest of my life with!  I was attending college at the time, we had been sharing an apartment together for months to try to reduce costs.  Was sharing a bed with a guy who had told me he was not interested in marrying me.  A few days more ticked by, with me studying for a physics exam.  The actual day of the test, he handed me my engagement ring asking me to marry him!  Needless to say I failed the examination.  Ended up having to retake the class in the next semester.

We have been married for well over 20 years now.  Have lived in different states of the United States of America.  Have had our phenomenal periods and our devastating atrocious nightmares.  Who doesn’t go through this type of life?

Complicated is the Prompt for the Day

The apparent members of the Brain Trust located at the Daily Post division of Word Press want us to create works of art based on the concept of “Complicated” for today.

Life Is Complicated Today

Just take a look at the current political situation with the United States of America’s up coming elections.  The one running in the Democratic Party is a bold faced liar, that I wouldn’t trust a single clipped penny!  The gentleman running in the Republican Group talks off the cuff, ignoring what his speech writers have prepared for him to say.  I like the fact he speaks how he feels, but offending foreign countries may not be the smart way to proceed.

Am extremely glad we have no children by choice.  Would not want them to be exposed to the school systems that are in operation for our country’s future generations!  How much longer will the American version of the English language be what is spoken here?

Who knows where the the future will lead us?  Maybe years down the road, human life will be wiped from the Earth by our own stupidity!  Too many bombs and wars wiping the planet free of all living creatures.  Could happen if we don’t change our ways.

Reach is the Prompt for the Day

The people who must be blessed with height chose the word “Reach” for today’s prompt for us to create various works of art based on.

Everything is Out of My Physical Reach

Comes from being born short.  Managed to obtain my dream of being a successful network engineer, but had to give that position up due to not being able to chase wiring anymore, because a disease confined me to a wheelchair.

Miss telling data both where to go and how to get there!  Do Not Piss Off the engineer in charge of your network, or your traffic might be routed the slowest way possible.  Yeah the traffic will still arrive, just a few seconds later!  If they are really ticked off, it might end up in the “bit bucket” other wise known as file 13 or trash.

Dreamed of being an astronaut while I was little

Didn’t find out there was a height requirement until I left for college.  There was absolutely no way I could ever reach that goal.  Needed to be several inches taller.  So that was completely out of my reach!  Changed my major to computer science and learned all about programming (which is really boring) and working with network traffic.  Preferred that side of the science!

Obsessed is the Prompt of the Day

The singly driven people of the Daily Post would like our art to be based on the word “Obsessed” for today.

What has Me Obsessed?

Memories of the mountains in Colorado, where we used to live.  That and the two cats we had adopted from a humane society while in the Chicago-metro area.  Took both animals along with us for our adventures in CO.  Miss those two so much it hurts!  Their spirits have followed us through many different states of this country.

My husband says he still sees both of the animals.  I only see the one I picked out to be adopted.  That one comes around whenever I am feeling sick or really sad.  Wish I could convince him to beat up the cat we adopted after he passed away, since it likes to bite and claw me!

If you have any advice on how to keep an animal from using me as his personal stress relief, all you should do is send an email to jeanette@saintpblogging.com All responses will be read by me personally.  Thank you for your input!

“Maybe” is the Prompt for the Day

The indecisive humans at the Daily Post division of Word Press chose the word “Maybe” to be the prompt for the day.

Do You Mean Yes or No?

You either agree or disagree.  Make a stand for once by sticking to your decision.  The world will respect you more for being able to make your mind up!

Growing up I always knew right where my goals where.  That made it a lot easier to make a decision!  Now that I seem to be literally losing my mind due to health issues, I have trouble making good decisions in life.

Fortunately, I married a wonderful man years ago that has stuck with me through both the good times and the bad times.  Yeah we argue a lot, but who doesn’t enjoy a good argument?  There was no debate team in the school where I grew up, or I would have been their star competitor!  I’d argue with a fence post, if it actually had the ability to speak.  Get that tendency from my Grandfather.  So you could say I inherited it naturally.
