Prompt for the Day: “Admire”

The dreamers from the Daily Post division of Word Press dreamed of drooling over our creations embodying the word “Admire” for today.

Things I Treasure

Places:

Basically the entire state of Colorado.

Our house here in St. Paul, Minnesota.  After a few modifications I can come and go as I please with the wheelchair ramp that was installed for us by the wonderful people with www.ramps.org  Still need to remodel the upstairs bathroom so that I will be able to take a shower without needing assistance from my husband, but we have it planned to be funded by the returns from our taxes this coming year.

People:

Obviously the man I married over 20 years ago!

Friends and other family members back where I grew up.

Friend from my first real job in networking while still attending college.  We have kept in contact even after I resigned from the company to accept a position with a major networking firm located in a different state.  She actually literally ended up saving my life, when I called her to tell her good-bye one last time because I was going to commit suicide.  Her husband contacted the police where I lived to come take me away to be locked up in a mental hospital.  She kept me on the phone as long as she could, making me promise to write my mate a long letter.

Please Help Fight Hideous Disease

The medicine my neurologist prescribed for me to treat my multiple sclerosis is called Tysabri. Trying to find the actual cost on the internet is basically nearly impossible. I remember when I first started on the drug the amount the facility tried charging me was well over $2500. There was no way my husband and I could afford that then or every 28 days! Biogen (the company that manufactures the drug) has been helping us with some of the cost of the drug, but will not continue helping indefinitely. If you would like to contribute to my fight against this mind stealing disease, please contribute by visit my personal website at http://saintpblogging.com/wp/ and see my about page located there.  A link to help fund my fight against this disease is located at the bottom of the page there.

Prompt for the Day: “Unstoppable”

The fierce people at the Daily Post division of Word Press want us to create works of art that make the word “Unstoppable” pop into the viewer’s mind.

Maybe We Should Look at U.S. Marine Swat Teams?

The vehicles they deploy can withstand just about anything that exists on Earth.  The soldiers themselves have undergone extensive training preparing them for the worst climates imaginable.  Starting with uncoordinated young recruits they work them into ferocious professional devil dogs!

They took my fat baby brother who had more tits than I did in when my mom forced me to start wearing bras when I was little and turned him into a bench pressing fighter who went over seas to defend our country!  They toughened him up to become a great father for his two kids.  He now manages a store in southern Texas, where he has been faced with a gun man trying to break into his store location.  Didn’t even faze my baby brother, he had seen worse as a Marine!

Have you ever come up against a force you thought was uncontainable?

Prompt for the Day: “Crisis”

The humorous people at the Daily Post group of Word Press wants us to create various works of art focusing on a single word “Crisis“.

Live in Chronic State of Crisis

Each minute seems to be a bigger emergency than the last minute!  Wears on you after a time (like a millisecond).  Holding your sanity in that form of alertness can snap even a Saint’s patience after an hour or so.  Nerves get frayed and tempers flare.

Imagine what my spouse has to live with if I am always in a crisis state each and every day!  Poor guy must be at his wit’s end by the time he gets me to go to bed each night.

If you have any calming words of wisdom for me, simply send them to my email account at hallenterprises12@gmail.com

All your words will be read by myself.  Thank you for your kind words of encouragement!

Living in disaster state all the time causes extreme frustration and debility.  Do you live in this sort of state, too?  It must be a wearing way to survive!

Prompt for the Day: “Elusive”

The word smiths at the Daily Post division of Word Press chose the hard to define word of “Elusive” for us to base our works of art on today.

It Hides From My Mental Grasp

Seems as slippery as a slimy escaping snake, the very idea of elusiveness.  Catch a glimpse of the idea for a second or two, and then it vanishes like smoke in the wind.  Face it, my mental state itself is elusive!

If you would like to give me advice on how to better control my sate of mind, all you have to do is drop me an email at hallenterprises12@gmail.com

Have seen proof that I actually have a brain located above my two shoulders via M.R.I. scan that is preformed every single year.  Apparently, even the neurologist must be in as much doubt as I am on this fact!

Face it, my sanity is continuously in question!  If someone finds it on top of a mountain somewhere, let it remain peacefully up there.  Every thing deserves a respite now and then.

Prompt for the Day: “Sanctuary”

The timid people at the Daily Post division of Word Press chose to have us create works of art based on the word “Sanctuary“.

My Refuge as a Child

Was climbing up an old apple tree in our front yard.  Surrounded by the leaves (in season) I was hidden from vision by people who did not know of my tendencies to climb to safety!  Up in that tree I could read (if I had brought a book with me) or talk to God undisturbed.  Felt more close to him there than I ever did in a stuffy church!

Got to enjoy nature while I was up there, too!  Fresh breezes blowing in over the fields surrounding the yard with the smell of growing crops like corn or soy beans.  If the farm happened to be hauling manure that day, smell would unfortunately drift my way way as well.

My other place to escape was visiting my mother’s parents.  Grandpa was the only one who truly believed in my dreams.  He swore I could accomplish anything if I set my mind to it!  (Only problem is my dream had a height requirement.  Am too short to ever successfully become an astronaut as I had hoped to become!)

Prompt for the Day: “Clock”

The time driven people at the Daily Post division of Word Press think they can force us to live by our clocks like they are forced to do by selecting the actual word “Clock” for today’s prompt for us to create our works of art around.

We Do Not Have Clock in House!

I know it is a shocking thing, but these days everyone has a cellphone!  Most cellphones have an alarm function on them and keep pretty accurate time.  Why waste money on another clock?  Even a stupid cell phone like I use, has the ability to set three separate alarms.  Personally, I prefer my stupid phone to the smart phone like my husband has.

It makes and receives calls quite well, what more do I need?  Have enough problems making sure I take all my medicines at their appointed time each day to worry about looking at clocks constantly!

These days being unemployed, am not as focused on clocks other than my cell phone that reminds me to take my medicines or to meet the Metro Mobility transportation providers who take me to and from my scheduled doctor’s appointments.  With out the excellent service Metro Mobility provides for the disabled people of the community, have no idea how I would continue to survive!

Prompt for the Day: “Punishment”

The sadists at the Daily Post division of Word Press chose the word “Punishment” for us to create our various works of art about for the day.

What Forms of Discipline Do You Hate?

As a kid, spent my life in literal fear of my father who handed out the most painful punishments.  He had the knack of not leaving visible damage that wasn’t covered by our clothing.  So my teachers never knew of the abuse he inflicted on me and my younger brothers.  One of the first things I did upon leaving home to attend college was get self defence training!  He would never be able to hurt me again!

One of the worst punishments was in my high school years, when he forbade me to talk to my mother about my problems anymore.  She had to resort to asking my friends what was bothering me back then.  Thankfully, my friends all liked my mom!  Unfortunately, I had not told them about my father’s mandate about not speaking to her.  Face it, your high school years can be the most difficult time in a young person’s life to navigate through!

Was an honest nerd who enjoyed teaching others when our teachers failed to clearly explain the subject matter to fellow students.  Would not give answers to my friends, just show them how to arrive at them on their own!  Ther

e was one time when a teacher was not grading one of my friend’s papers fairly, so I had her write the assigned essay and I signed my name to it and I wrote one and had her sign her name to it.  She received her first decently graded paper and I received an ‘A’ like normal.  When the teacher handed back our papers, I confessed our deceit.

Prompt for Today: “Carefree”

The blissful people at the Daily Post group of Word Press want to observe our art works based on the word “Carefree“.

Considering My Health Problems

I am definitely not ever carefree!  Along with the scoliosis and asthma I was diagnosed with as a child, add the hideous disease called multiple sclerosis and the sub pubic catheter I had surgically inserted in my body before starting my first dose of the disease modifying medicine in 2010 (has caused way too many urinary tract infections to count) tend to be constantly sick!

If you would like to offer any helpful advice on the subject of avoiding illness, simply send an email to hallenterprises12@gmail.com

All advice will be read by me personally.  Thank you for all your help in this continuously on going problem!

I always follow my doctor’s suggestions to the letter and finish all prescriptions completely.   Flush my nose out with saline as often as I can.  Have a deviated septum, so neti pots do not work for me, unfortunately.  There is no better way to invite illness to reside in your body, than not to finish medicines prescribed by your doctors!  Never share your medications with other people even within your family.  What works for you may make another person deathly ill!

Prompt for Yesterday: “Depth”

The shallow people at the Daily Post division of Word Press chose the word “Depth” for us to base our works of art on for the day.

Music First!

Made me think of the great old song by Genesis “In Too Deep

Most People Today Are Shallow

Most people today get married for all the wrong reasons.  Divorce rates are through the roof!  Don’t most wedding vows include “until death do us part”?  That is what me and my husband vowed each other on our wedding day over 20 years ago.  Yeah, he has tried to divorce me a few times, but then realized he couldn’t survive with out me!

Thankfully we do not have any children to put through our stressful life periods.  We just drive each other nuts on a daily basis!  Was insane before we got married, hasn’t gotten any better.

The lack of depth in lives today is a saddening thing.  Young people today are too attached to their electronic devices to form any true human relationships.  Kids don’t run around and play outside like we used to, when we were little.  No in-taking of fresh air with their friends as they play in a local creek or with their pets out doors.  Walking the dog used to be a bonding period between the animal and the human.

My husband stands with me when we each have health problems.  Admittedly I present more problems with my terrible health than he does, but we go through all of it together!

Prompt for the Day: “Feast”

The apparently starving people at the Daily Post group of Word Press would like us to make them salivate by creating works of art based on the word “Feast“.

Thanksgiving Only Feast Anticipate

Even them, I only eat moderately.  Gaining weight is not something my body can handle.  Have to be able to move myself through out our home.  Hoisting my slight frame from my wheelchair to other fixtures here takes both concentration and my limited supply of energy to complete!

Pumpkin Pie is the only variety of pie I will eat, since the filling tends to be a healthy one that is low in the sugary fattening gunk.  Not fond of putting whipped cream on top, either.  However my husband introduced me to the concept of topping the pie with a scoop of ice cream!  Who can say no to ice cream?  Not even a lactose intolerant person like me.  Simply have to take 2 dairy digestive pills with my first bite.

When I was little, enjoyed going to my grandparents for meals on holidays.  Grandma would have the table piled overflowing with delicious food!  Great salads, vegetable dishes, and savoury meats.  The desert selections kept all the relatives eating for days with all the left overs she made for us grand kids!

Now that grandma has passed away, my mom is the one in charge of making the family holiday meals.  She used to help grandma by bringing along certain dishes she specialized in making, but no one helps mom these days.  The Thanksgiving meal is missing not only people that have passed on, but the family coming together helping create the feast!
