Wailing Heights, Comic Book-Style Music Adventure Now Available

Featuring 4,000 lines of dialogue and an indie-pop soundtrack, Outsider Games comic-book style, music-rhythm adventure game called Wailing Heights has officially launched on Steam.

The game features players in the role of music manager Frances Finklestein. Finklestein manages to find himself locked in a cell for the unspeakable crime of being… alive. Players will have to use Finklestein’s ghost to embody various other creatures and monsters from around Wailing Heights to find someway to escape.

Along the way players will meet a wide variety of colorful characters written by Kevin Beimers, the same mind behind games like Hector: Badge of Carnage and Raiders of the Lost Quark.

The entire story of Finklestein’s aim to recover his body and escape from Wailing Heights is wrapped around a rather infectious art-style from the same creative minds who brought you Hitman, Judge Dredd, Preacher and The Revenants.

I have to say that when you see the game it’s hard to unsee it and it’s hard not to want to see more. You can check out the game trailer below to get a glimpse of the art and music in action.

The early reviews for the game are positive so far, it only hands two handful of reviews from those who bought it, but most enjoy the pop-cultural themes, witty humor and obviously the unmistakable art-style that gives Wailing Heights its own identity in a sea of games all trying to make their mark in today’s market.

If you’re looking for a game with a strange otherworldly theme, lots of indie-pop music and a completely different take on the point-and-click genre, you can check out Wailing Heights right now on Steam for only $9.99. The soundtrack and art book are also available as add-ons for $4.99. You can learn more by checking out the Steam store or by visiting the official website.
