Reikon Games and Devolver Digital have teamed up together to bring you their new story-driven, isometric, Cyberpunk action game, Ruiner.
The development team has released a new announcement trailer today, showcasing their new game and a few key gameplay elements.
Ruiner takes places in the year 2091 where gangs and mobsters run the streets of Rengkok city. Everybody wants to be somebody, and corruption and violence is everywhere. The details for the story is still a bit vague, but it seems to revolve around the violent streets of Rengkok, a massive mega-corporation called Heaven, and finding out what happened to the protagonist’s brother.
The theme and visual art style for Ruiner looks amazing, taking themes from cyberpunk anime and placing it into a game. The combat is fast, bloody, and filled with action. Players will have a variety of weapons to help them dispatch enemies, ranging from shotguns, handguns, and possibly a few melee attacks. The gameplay for this game looks really cool, especially with the special abilities to dash around your enemies and create energy shields to deflect enemy firepower.
A few years ago when I first heard that a new Shadowrun game remake was coming, THIS is the type of game I thought we would be getting. Ruiner has taken the cyberpunk genre and has created an action adventure game that is running on the Unreal Engine 4. They have launched a trailer showcasing the game, and I am impressed so far with the way it was presented. It looks like it will be a thrill ride from start to finish and a blast to play. Take a look at the official Ruiner announcement trailer that I linked down below to see it all for yourself.
