Supergiant Games released the new trailer for the upcoming, party-based RPG called Pyre. It’s the third game they’ve worked on following the release of the highly celebrated and best selling Bastion, as well as the melancholy but thought-provoking world they brought to life in Transistor.
Featuring original music from Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett, such as the song used in the following Pyre trailer called “In The Flame”, the upcoming RPG will see players battling in a competition to escape from purgatory and remove the label of “exile” from them. They will gather a party and travel the land, fighting against other exiles using magic and might. You can get a glimpse of the game in action with the very well put together debut trailer below.

The music in that trailer was so rocking that it was hard to think about the game without thinking about the music.
Apparently Supergiant recognized that gamers were really digging the original tune and decided to post up a YouTube video just featuring the song “In The Flame” from Korb and Barrett. You can check out the song below.

One thing that’s really neat is that the team of exiles under the player’s command is not the only team looking to gain freedom from purgatory. The story dynamic revolves around the fact that various exiles battling for their freedom are who players will have to battle throughout their journey… this adds an interesting twist as relationships are made and broken over time. I can already imagine the feels that will take place throughout Pyre.
I have really tip my hat off to Supergiant Games insofar that they’ve been keen on really pushing boundaries and experimenting with storytelling and character development. Their games aren’t afraid to take risks, really putting a lot of other studios in the bigger brackets to shame with how vanilla they are with their outings… like Star Wars: Battlefront… and Far Cry: Primal… and The Division… and just about every other cookie-cutter AAA game that has recently been shoved out there to flail like an obese Jihadist being dumped in front of an American embassy with dynamite strapped to his love handles.
Anyway, you can look for Pyre to launch sometime in 2017 for PC and PS4. For more information on the game feel free to pay a very kind visit to the official Supergiant website.
