Sometimes an indie game comes along every once in awhile that has a trailer that is full of so much charm and character, that it looks ridiculously amazing. Enter The Gungeon is one of those games.
Enter The Gungeon is published by Devolver Digital and developed by Dodge Roll Games. You select a hero to go on a grand journey into the Gungeon, a dungeon filled with gun wielding bullets to retrieve the mystical and legendary gun that has the power to kill the past. All of the heroes in the game are filled with deep regret from something that haunts them from their past, thus they take this journey to find the past killer gun, and correct the errors of their youth to change history. You will have to Jump, roll, and shoot your way to victory. Players will be able to tackle this vicious dungeon alone or team up with friends to take it on cooperatively.
Gameplay wise, this game looks like a lot of fun. It is a retro-pixel style isometric shooter, with Rogue-like RPG elements set in a deadly dungeon that keeps changing and evolving. However, not every single room is procedurally generated. There are a few special rooms that have been handcrafted by the development team to create a unique dungeon exploring experience.
Enter The Gungeon, also has several fancy guns to choose from, but seeing how the entire theme of the game is based around guns and shooting, this comes as no surprise. Find weapon and collect weapons of immense power. Based on the trailer, there seems to even be a gun that plays jolly sounding music while shooting out a beam of deadly rainbows.
