PlayStation 4 owners and fans of the Don’t Starve games will finally be able to play Shipwrecked on their PS4 sometime this Spring. This was announced on the PlayStation.blog, which PS4 fans will also see Don’t Starve Together arriving sometime soon for the platform.
Klei and Capybara announced that Don’t Starve Shipwrecked will be coming soon for PS4 folks, which will be joined by Don’t Starve Together. Looking at the former, Shipwrecked will be an expansion that will require the original game, letting players connect their worlds.
As for Don’t Starve Together, it is noted to release as a separate game or standalone that will get its own multiplayer specific content/updates. In addition to Together, all the content from the DS and Reign of Giants expansion in Together will be refined and tweaked for multiplayer play.
Moreover, looking over to the PlayStation.blog, Corey Rollins had responded to a fellow reader about PS Vita support in the comment section and noted that…
“Maybe! We’re looking in to it, but we’re not sure what’s possible yet. If we end up being able to bring Shipwrecked over to Vita we’ll let everyone know.”
Rollins later replied to another reader about PS Vita support after other readers started asking for support, and surprisingly answered them again with a similar response like the aforesaid.
“Looking in to what’s possible for Vita now. If it works out we’ll let everyone know.”
This means PS Vita fans might be able to get their hands on both Don’t Starve Shipwrecked and Don’t Starve Together later on. Bringing it back to the PS4, you can check out the latest trailer for Shipwreck that will drop sometime this Spring, as seen below.
And yes, the video below is quite old, but Rollins also posted the link to the trailer for Don’t Starve Together in the recent blog post, which stands as a reminder for fans that they are still working on a PS4 version. If you want, you can check out the trailer if you haven’t seen it before.
As of now, Don’t starve Shipwrecked is available for PC over on Steam for $4.99, while Don’t Starve Together is available on Steam for $14.99. Both the former and latter will land on the PS4 sometime later this Spring or in the year.
