Indie developers DevGru-P have ported over their mobile dating sim Panzermadels: Tank Dating Simulator to Steam for PC. The game recently released on Valve’s digital distribution service at a $9.99 price point and gamers are loving it.
The theme of the game centers around a school of tanks learning the ropes and getting good before heading off to battle, and players can date these tanks… well, because the tanks are actually young girls.
As explained on the Steam store page…
“Erwin Lemmor just got transferred to a prestigious military academy to study Armored Warfare. But when he arrives, Erwin realizes it’s not Tank School, but “Tank School” for World War II Tanks. Who happen to look just like Japanese School Girls…!
“Instead of studying military history and doctrine, he’s in “Basic Artillery Computations for Fire Support 101”, and “Radio Operations 214”. Will he win the heart of the tank-girls, or end up as cannon fodder?”
You can check out a gameplay video for the visual novel dating sim below to get an idea of what the art and story is like, courtesy of YouTuber Many A True Nerd.
Panzermadels is a game about dating World War 2 tanks that happen to look like people. But are still functional tanks. It’s also full of military history and puns.
The game is receiving tons of positive feedback and intermixed between the joke reviews and memes, there are a few genuine reviews from Steam users like Make America Great Again, who wrote…
“I’ve played War Thunder. I’ve played World of Tanks. These don’t even compare to Panzermadels – this game is, in and out, the best game that has been released, ever. It has always been my dream to be inside a tank – this game not only makes that possible, but completely immersifies you with an amazing soundtrack, top tier graphics and amazingly realistic tank protrayals.”
With 14 hours logged into the game, Make America Great Again isn’t even lying about loving the game. In fact, as I write this article he’s in the game right now.
A real honest gamer who puts truth in his reviews… now that’s how we make America great again. Forget foreign policy, forget healthcare reform, forget tax incentives for small start-up businesses to help reinvigorate the economy and give people jobs, we need more people following their dreams of being inside of tanks and finding love with T-34-85s.
Anyway, Panzermadels has been receiving mostly positive reviews from the denizens of Steam. There are only a few negative reviews and most of them just feel the visual novel doesn’t quite live up to being a quality experience due to the samey endings and shallow writing, despite enjoying the jokes and references.
If you want a tongue-in-cheek dating sim involving tanks and plenty of dank World War II memes, feel free to check out Panzermadels over on the Steam store.
