XSeed Games and Marvelous Entertainment have announced that Senran Kagura Estival Versus for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita has officially gone gold. This means that development is done and finished on the title and the gold master disc is being shipped off so the physical copies can be manufactured and shipped off for the respective platforms.
The story for the game sees the young and busty kunoichis whisked away to a sunny paradise that’s not quite as it appears to be. As mentioned in the press release…
“In SENRAN KAGURA ESTIVAL VERSUS, a mystical phenomenon transports the nubile ninjas of the titular series to a parallel dimension to face off against their rivals in a new kind of battle. In this strange world – which resembles a sunny, sandy island paradise – the girls are thrown for another loop as they encounter departed loved ones and ultimately have to decide if they can bear to part from them a second time.”
The game sports brand new Shinobi warriors, they are Sayuri, Ryōki, Renka, Hanabi, and Kafuru. They will have all new moves, special abilities and powers to master as players will battle hordes of enemies in the bright, visually popping atmospheres that the developers have sculpted for Senran Kagura Estival Versus.
One of the interesting things about the game is that despite being fairly risque with lots of fan-service, big bouncy boobs and plenty of shameless moments of clothes being removed, the Senran Kagura series has always been well regarded as a series that puts a lot of effort and time into the actual mechanics and combat. That hasn’t changed with the latest outing, where mastering combos, learning special moves and countering attacks still require fast finger-work and keen reflexes.
While games like Senran Kagura continually come under attack for not being progressive enough, they fill a niche that some gamers desire to be fulfilled and it’s no different than people getting their annual Call of Duty fix, or their Star Wars fix.
You can look for Senran Kagura Estival Versus to go live for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on March 15th. For more info feel free to visit the official XSeed Games website.
