When building your settlement in Fallout 4 one of the big restrictions is where you can place objects. Furniture can’t be stacked, beds can float, dressers can’t halfway hang out of the wall like Tara Reid’s boobs on the red carpet back when she was actually a celebrity. Everything in the vanilla Fallout 4 has to be strict and set only in specific places… until now.
Nexus Mods user TheLich has come up with a very nifty mod for Fallout 4 called “Place Everywhere”. It enables users to place settlements objects… everywhere. You can put them inside walls, hover them in the air, even stack them to create all new buildings and sculptures. You can see what the mod looks like in action in the video below, courtesy of YouTuber Atlas@Gaming.
This mod replaces the much hated Place in Red mod. It allow you to place objects in your settlement ANYWHERE you want while still allowing basic functions like snapping. Place Everywhere by TheLich Link @ Nexus Mods: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9424/?
TheLich explains exactly how the mod works and what benefits it offers, writing on the description page…
“This F4SE plugin allows building and placing objects in workshop mode everywhere (see note below) you want. Inside other objects, in water, even at air. Also makes almost all scrap-only objects (yellow) selectable/movable. Also you can move objects out of green zone and leave them there, while I do not recommend do this – if you think your settlement borders are too tight, just use border expanding mods like Build High (be careful though, as this mod conflicts with scrap mods and can cause reset bug).”
This is actually really cool because now it opens up Fallout 4’s settlement builder to contain all sorts of neat, user-made structures.
You will need the Nexus Mod Manager and the F4SE runtime to utilize the modded plugin. If you’re familiar with GTA V’s ASI loader and the .dll plugin that allows you to run custom scripts, you’ll likely be familiar with the F4SE for Fallout 4. You can grab a copy of the Script Extender from over on the Silverlock website.
If you want to get the Place Everywhere mod for the game, just head on over to Nexus Mods and download the script. This mod is only available for the PC version at the moment.
At this rate modders won’t even need Bethesda to provide them with the modding tools… they’ll likely end up being able to make any and everything they need by the time the official tools go public.
