WarBirds is a action arcade flight simulator developed by iEntertainment Network, that was just recently launched on Steam on January 14th 2016. Warbirds Dogfights has been out for quite some time now, but the new 2016 version that has just recently come out has been updated with new features, bug fixes, realistic plane models, damage, and flight controls to impress fans of the flight simulator genre.
Players will engage in team combat either online or offline, in small scale or large scale battles that range across the world from North Africa, to Europe, to the Pacific.
The new version has included more options for playing offline, with more than 60 planes that players can choose from to fly in the offline mode, as well as AI pilots so that you don’t have to wait in a game queue for other players to join. Want to play online? There are over 125 planes that you can operate to dominate other players and show off your Superior dogfighting skills, giving you access to different aircrafts from America, Germany, Britain, Russia and Japan.
Earlier I said this was an arcade flight simulator, the reason I say that is because based on the description for WarBirds Dogfights 2016, it sounds like it is catering more towards the arcade crowd because they say you won’t have to takeoff, land your plane, or fly for long periods of time looking for enemies. Instead, the game starts as soon as you spot the enemy and you go from there, straight into the action.
Battles take place over 20 different historical locations in large scale air battles. The combat itself however will be slightly randomly generated so that starting positions, flight plans, and objectives will change up every time you play to add a bit of variety and diversity to every dogfight. New to flight sim games and just getting into it? Maybe you need to refresh your flying skills before jumping into battle? WarBirds Dogfights 2016 has full training support for you to practice and earn your wings before jumping into battle, teaching you over 15 air maneuvers to help you fly before throwing you out into battle.
WarBirds Dogfights 2016 is currently available from Steam for $19.99 USD. If you buy the new 2016 version through Steam, purchasers will get a free 30-day trial in WarBirds, giving you a chance to test it out before paying more. What I mean by this is that WarBirds Dogfights 2016 is both a free to play game and subscription based, but players can choose which version they want to play.
After the 30 day trial period ends you will no longer have access to the premium content, you can either choose to continue to pay the monthly subscription fee to access all the content, or stay in the free to play mode with limited planes and content.
