PC gamers can get in some play time with Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO‘s free demo that’s available on Steam.
They made an announcement on their Steam page as well as sent out a press release indicating that the free demo is current up and available for download. They accompanied the news with a trailer showing off the cars and the track that gamers will be able to test out. You can check it out below.
Milestone is glad to announce that the DEMO on STEAM™ is now available.
The track is the Montecarlo taking place on the Sisteron leg. There are three cars available to race, including the Mini Cooper S from the 1970s, the Peugeot R5, and the Polo Rally Car. Three game modes are also included, including the rally single stage race, a playground time attack and a challenge time attack.
The demo arrives a week ahead of the game’s release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on January 29th. The demo definitely signifies some faith by Milestone in their product that they would release it so close to release. Demos do one of two things: convince people to buy the game or convince them not to.
These days a lot of publishers forgo demos because if people get a taste of how limited, unenjoyable or shallow a game is, they’ll likely cancel the pre-order for real.
Based on the feedback so far the game seems to be mediocre. The graphics obviously aren’t anywhere near that of Codemasters’ DiRT Rally and the physics don’t quite seem to be up to par, either. However, if ithis is a budget priced rally game for enthusiasts, I’m sure some fans will let it slide.
You can download the demo for Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO on PC right now by heading on over to the official Steam store page. I imagine if the certification and posting fees weren’t so high for the Xbox One and PS4 they likely would have added a demo for console gamers, too.
