It may not seem like it but gamers really love their controller mods. From stick grips and button replacements to paddles and analog extenders, gamers are all-in on upgrading, modifying and enhancing their controllers. This thirst for the perfect palm pads has actually helped KontrolFreek move through a momentous 2015 with startling 70% year-over-year growth.
The company recently sent out a press release indicating that they had a strong 2015, including the partnership with Activision for providing continued licensed products based on Call of Duty throughout 2015 and 2016. This also ties into Activision’s new e-sports initiative to expand their market growth within the competitive gaming scene.
KontrolFreek has also expanded their reach via the e-sports scene, as mentioned in the press release…
“KontrolFreek increased its investment in international professional eSports players and content partners in 2015. New partners include three U.S-based and three European-based professional Call of Duty teams, and sponsored influencers like Gotaga, TripleWreck, GrefG and more.”
The company also detailed how they now offer products spanning 6,000 individual stores across the continental United States. They managed to grow their presence by more than 4,500 new stores in 2015 compared to 2014, with a 75% increase in potential market reach thanks to their retail growth. This also translated into a year-over-year revenue increase of 70%, so you could pretty much say that expanding into more stores was practically tantamount to the revenue growth they achieved.
Ashish Mistry, the President and CEO of KontrolFreek, commented about the company’s 2015 performance in the press release, stating…
“KontrolFreek has been on a major growth trajectory for several years, and we’re pleased that 2015 was no exception. This was our best year to date,”
“Moving into 2016, that momentum won’t slow down. We currently have several open staff positions and are expanding our offices. We have already locked in key retail and licensing deals for this year, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of 2016 will bring.”
Throughout 2016 KontrolFreek will be expanding their business operations including filling in new positions to suit the demand for their growing product line.
They’ve also added a new grip line to their controller mods, enabling gamers to clasp firmly onto their pads with new palm grips for the Xbox One and PS4 controllers.
