The Center: Act I, Sci-Fi Adventure Takes To Kickstarter
The Center

Studio Daisho’s The Center: Act I – Axis has recently gone live over on Kickstarter, attempting to bring in some funds to help finish a game about a robot and his companion set out on an adventure to destroy a planet… only, things don’t go as planned.

Players assume the role of Anu and Hex, supposed martyrs sent out to reset the universe by an ancient and mysterious alien race. Only, things go haywire and the ship Anu is on ends up crashing. The duo end up having to scavenge the planet for supplies in order to survive and battle some of the inhabitants there as they find themselves trapped in an ongoing war. You can check out the pitch video containing proof of concept, pre-alpha footage for The Center below.

The game will feature isometric, real-time gameplay. Given that Anu is not a combat robot it means that his combat abilities are limited. Instead, players will use Hex to execute most of the combat-oriented tactics, including slowing down enemies, applying status effects and performing other upgradeable skills to help Anu out when things get hairy.

Hex will also be able to scavenge and acquire supplies that players will be able to transform into usable materials, and upgrade the abilities of both Anu and Hex.

The Center: Act I

It looks a little like Master Chief and 343 Guilty Spark there.

The team also wants to implement increasingly difficult boss encounters, with players having to battle them throughout the campaign. They don’t have any proof of concept for the boss fights, as the only thing we get to see as far as gameplay is concerned is the movement of the characters and some of what the world looks like.

They do have the soundtrack available to listen to, so gamers can get an idea of what the music in the game will be like. You can listen to that below.
