HuniePot Offers Koei $1 Million To Publish Dead Or Alive Xtreme 3 In America

In a completely serious offer, the developers of the dating simulator HuniePop and the upcoming HunieCam Studio, have offered Koei Tecmo $1 million USD to publish Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 in the West.

In a series of tweets, the developer makes it known that they are serious and they really do want to help put the game in the hands of American gamers willing to pay for it after Koei said they would not be bringing it Stateside, despite previous Dead or Alive Xtreme titles selling better in America than in Japan.

In the series of tweets, HuniePot states…

“Probably nothing to them but I’d give Koei Tecmo $1M for the rights to publish DOAX in the US. Let me take the heat. 100% serious. It’s an extra million they otherwise wouldn’t have. Seems like a no brainer to me. Let them know.”

With that, they decided to direct a tweet at Koei Tecmo…

This offer comes after Koei Tecmo decided that they were not going to be publishing the game in the West due to all the raucous media noise surrounding gender politics and big, jiggly boobs in games. They went through the same thing earlier in the year with the release of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round.

[Update 11/26/2015:] Breitbart is also reporting that Instacodez has offered $2 million to publish the game in Europe.

Various other publishers and developers have also been coming under fire for games that certain moral authoritarians feel are “problematic”.

In fact, even though Koei Tecmo said that they would not be publishing Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 in the West, culture critics like Jonathan McIntosh, whose employee does the voiceover for his Feminist Frequency scripts, actually lambasted Koei on Twitter for the game… after finding out that it wasn’t coming to America.

As you can see, even when a company tries to avoid the gender politics and the brigade of indefatigable cultural agitators, they still can’t win. This also proves that yes, the gender-political ideologues really do want to control the games you play and they do stand for censorship.

Nevertheless, niche e-tailers like Play-Asia decided to fight back and has already offered gamers deals on importing Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 for the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4. Various gaming journalists still attacked Play-Asia over supporting Koei and the gaming community, as reported by Attack on Gaming.

Kotaku in Action currently has an e-mail campaign going and there’s also a Change.org petition that is taking place, all so that gamers can make their voices heard and let Koei Tecmo know that they do care about their products.

    The interesting thing here is that the (excellent) character in the header image was removed from the roster. That’s why I’m not buying it.

    That said, people should have the choice to buy what they want. I doubt it’d sell that great over here anyway, the sequel apparently failed pretty hard in sales numbers and it’ll be a DLC fest for sure.

    Like, they’d probably make a lot more than 1 mil $ selling the game here. The problem is that the potential damage from the SJW brigade would become much higher than 1 mil $. It is just not worth it!

    Also, for the record, most of us that want this has already caved. Forget about any petition and import the game. We lost this battle.

      In a way, I consider it a win because more people will realize that SJW bullshit is a very real threat. Most humans ignore such threats under the assumption they personally won’t be affected, until it’s too late. This whole debacle is a good wake up call for those kinds of people.

    So, I was thinking about this whole debacle, and I think Koei Tecmo’s decision was based on how GamerGate was covered by the mainstream media (including the Japanese media). Even 2ch threads mostly linked to the bullshit mainstream lies.

    KT seems to believe that a large number of gamers are trying to drive females out of the industry, which happens to be the “official GamerGate narrative”. They’re probably afraid of a backlash for encouraging that behavior, even though it’s a lie.

    If my theory is correct, then you can thank the Western game media for all of this. They pushed the bullshit narrative, and this is the result.

      Yeah, but their main DoA series was attacked before Gamergate existed. Dead or Alive 5 specifically. Both on normal release, Last Round, and again on PC release.

      Not to mention the tournaments banning sexy costumes.

      So now you take away the serious fighting game with a variety of characters including men, and only have Volleyball and Butt Bumping in bikinis? They figured the backlash would be even worse.

    As awesome as it would be for HuniePot to publish the game in America after all this bullshit, I have to wonder if they even have the $1m to buy the rights, let alone market and publish it for both PS4 and Xbox One. Undoubtedly due to Streisand Effect, it would at least break even, but you still have to keep in mind, not only are they still developing games on their own, HuniePot is (from what I know) mainly an indie developer, not a publisher like Koei Tecmo or Yacht Club Games. There’s a lot more to this than just “hey I’ll give you a million if I can publish this game in America”.

      well 1 milllion is a bit insulting for distrubution rights. That’s like saying to Disney, hey i’ll give you $50 to let me sell the Original Triology on DVD in Europe.

      Not to mention even if they did get the rights it would cost a lot more then 1 million to actually distrubite the game.

      This is more on the lines of Playboy offering money for a celebrity to pose in their magazine. It’s never meant to be taken seriously just to get some attention for Playboy

    The crappy thing about this is it’s for the PS4. I don’t know if I really want to buy PS4 because it really only has the two games now that look nice- DOAx3 and Bloodborne. Maybe when the ps4 goes down in price.

    Either way, good to see someone doing the right thing and telling SJW’s to piss off.
