Survive in Space by overcoming deadly challenges in this 3D Puzzle Platform game, Fractal Space, developed by Indie game studio, Haze Games.
Fractal Space is a first person puzzle platform game made using the Unity game engine. I downloaded the free press demo and had a small playthrough to see what the game was like. Fractal Space reminds me a bit of the Portal game series made by Valve.
You start off with nothing but your wits as you go through the tutorial area, dodging deadly lasers and traps to flip switches to move on to the next area. Eventually, you will have a futuristic laser gun that you can use to help judge the distance of objects but pointing it around, or use it to remotely press buttons and activate switches.
Fractal Space Consists of a series of puzzles you have to solve to navigate the stage to reach the next area, guided by nothing but a female voice known as “The Invisible Girl” to help you along the way. The main character is male, as he speaks and gives verbal feedback about how he lost his memory. He often times will comment about the puzzles he faces and questions what he has to do, and it is up to you to find your way past the current obstacle using all the verbal cues from both your character and the female voice that guides you along. You can watch the official gameplay video down below that I linked from haze Games official YouTube channel.

The graphics for Fractal Space looks like it came from the N64 age of gaming (visually it reminds me a lot of Perfect Dark), which to me isn’t such a bad thing seeing how most Indie games are going for an NES 8bit retro look.
The music is a mix of easy listening post-rock, with a bit of techno vibes going on, often times having sounds of nature playing in the background while you solve puzzles and navigate the stage. The soundtrack matches the game and environment nicely and is quite soothing to listen to. If you are interested, you can follow the provided link to listen to the free soundtrack that the developers released on the website GameJolt.com.
Fractal Space is still in development, but they have been Greenlit to appear on Steam shortly, and they have downloadable demos that you can play for iOS and Android, with a PC demo currently in the works and on its way. If you would like to learn more, you can visit Fractal Space official website for further details, as well as their Steam Greenlight page.
