Akçay Karaazmak’s The Dark Inside Me couldn’t manage to complete its Kickstarter. The very graphic, very gory, very sexual horror game failed to grasp hold of its intended audience, either due to a lack of appeal or the lack of media attention. Despite the crowd-funding efforts on Kickstarter not coming to fruition, Karaazmak and the rest of the developers at Blue Arc Studios will continue to work on the game while funding their efforts through Patreon.

Despite the game being Greenlit for Steam rather quickly, that did not translate into donations to the Kickstarter. In an e-mail sent out to explain the change in crowd-funding tactics, Karaazmak states…

“We couldn’t make it on Kickstarter and now we have lunched a Patreon support page to fund the development. Supporters can pledge with 1$ or more monthly.

 

“Every month we will share updates, game parts, news, graphics, music, ideas and more with our supporters and give gifts to them like; box-editions, t-shirts, posters etc…

 

“We will release the game, chapter by chapter.”

They have plans on finishing up the first chapter of the game, which will be broken down into two parts and the first part includes three episodes. The second part contains four episodes.

They plan to release each chapter in parts until they finally finish the development of the game.

A new CG render was released to give gamers a small taste of what’s to come and you can check that out below.

The Patreon page has already garnered six patrons as of the writing of this article. The developer is aiming to score at least $1,000 a month until they can get the chapters out. That’s not really enough for living expenses in some places but it may be enough to get the ball rolling.

The third-person, point-and-click horror title is a throwback to the old horror games on PC back during 1990s, only it’s been updated with the latest visual effects, very mature themes and extremely disturbing content.
