Paris Games Week brought us quite a bit of stuff, but it seems many fans of NieR got pumped from the first actual gameplay footage that Square Enix showcased. Platinum Games doing what they know best, brings fans of NieR a new fast-pace trailer for their forthcoming PS4 exclusive NieR: Automata.
During Paris Games Week presentation, it was later confirmed that the game will run at 60 frames per second, unlike the video that was running at 30 fps. However, this isn’t anything surprising since Platinum Games values nice frame rate for their fast-pace games.
Something that also got NieR fans excited was that the original creators and members were back on board to make the JRPG even more special. This news comes from the official Playstation blog that Dan Seto posted up, as seen below.
“Fans of the original Nier will be happy to know that all of the key members of the creative team are back for Nier: Automata! ”
“I don’t think it would be a proper Nier game if Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito weren’t involved! They are the original duo behind the first Nier game.”
In addition to the duo, Automata features a story that revolves around mechanical life forms and beings from another planet invading Earth, with devastating powers that force mankind to flee to the moon. Although that plot might sound silly, it sets up the character you see named 2B to rid the world of these dangerous mechanical beings.
If you’re interested in watching the latest gameplay trailer for NieR, you can check out either the humorous introduction in which Yoko-san and Saito-san go to Paris Games Week to show the game off, or you can watch the official trailer below the first.

NieR: Automata is a new third-person action RPG, follow-up to the 2010 cult hit NIER. Now in development in collaboration with PlatinumGames Inc., the new trailer showcases the character 2B, and gives a first-look at NieR: Automata’s gameplay which features PlatinumGames’ signature action-oriented combat.
NieR will still sport its familiar composer Keiichi Okabe from the original game, because what’s a game without its original composer that made the game’s music distinctive? They also got character designer Akihiko Yoshida, who worked on several Square Enix games like Final Fantasy XII, XIV, Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story among others.
As of now, no official release date was announced, but it is slated to land exclusively for the Playstation 4. For more information on Square Enix and Platinum Games NieR: Automata, you can hit up the official Playstation blog.
