During the QuakeCon 2015 event, Bethesda’s Todd Howard revealed that the popular mobile title Fallout Shelter will be available for Android devices come August 13th. The release of the game on Android devices will also come with a bevy of new additions, including a resource-gathering robot known as Mr. Handy.
Over on the Bethesda Blog the news was rolled out for the general public and everyone else who didn’t attend this year’s QuakeCon. The post is short and sweet and explains that the premium reward known as Mr. Handy will help out during those moments where you need to gather resources from the outside, with the blog stating…
“Have him collect resources inside your Vault, send him into the wasteland to collect loot, and defend your Vault from creatures and disasters, including all new Deathclaw invasions and Molerat infestations.”
The game was a hoot right from the start. Bethesda released it the night of their E3 stage conference, so they hit the ground running with the sort of momentum you might expect from a Greek fleeing Greece with what little of their life’s savings they have left.
The game has maintained quite a bit of popularity as a point-and-click, resource management and survival simulation app. The Pip-Boy inspired graphics and custom base building has helped keep the game siphoning the attention span from mobile gamers since its debut this past June.
If you’ve somehow missed the game as it’s been making its way around the gaming media sphere, you can check out the announcement trailer below.

Believe it or not, certain ideologues who shalt not be named here actually tried hammering on the game because the pregnant women flee dangerous situations in the game. Yes, you read that right… pregnant women flee dangerous situations in order to protect their unborn kids. Apparently certain people want to see pregnant women wielding M60 machine guns blasting down mutant zombies or being torn apart like the other stooges who guard the rest of the shelter.
Anyway, Fallout Shelter for Android devices will drop on August 13th along with a few more updates for the game that will be available for both Android and iOS devices.
