Koei Tecmo’s Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess for PS3, PS Vita and PS4 has found itself a nice niche audience. For gamers having trouble getting the most out of the game there is a complete gameplay walkthrough guide available that covers the different traps and how to complete all 100 quest missions.
Players assume the role of the Nightmare Princess, Velguirie. The objective is to complete each of the missions in the quest mode to finally meet the Great One after collecting enough souls. The core of the game is about placing down traps that take down an enemy’s lifebar until they finally die.

Many of the missions are quite straight forward, and if you find yourself having difficulty with one in particular, just skip tot he video in the playlist to find out how to get past a specific mission or boss.
A few of the missions that seems like it might have given some gamers are the ones with short timers. As showcased in the playlist above, the best way to deal with those is setting up the rocking horse combined with the hammer and then knocking the opponent either into a stage hazard for a quick kill or dropping the spiked ball on them.
The game can get tricky if you don’t micromanage how to deal damage to some opponents with consecutive combos, but as you play through the game it gets easier to align certain traps with one another for some quick kills. It reminds me of Final Destination: The Game. Only death is wearing stilettos and has an alluring taste in attire.
The game isn’t too difficult once you master the basic concepts of combining the traps but if you run into any troubles with the bosses those are covered in the videos above. Strategies for defeating Millennia are in part 3 and 4. How to defeat Celia is in part 9. Defeating Allura is in part 10. In part 13, the final showdown will be between Velguirie and Laegrinna.
Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess is available right now for the PlayStation 3, PS Vita and PlayStation 4.
