The newest trailer that E3 brought us pertaining to Horizon was very unique. We got to see this futuristic yet prehistoric world that mixes together humans and dino-robotic machines, and from what we could see a mass amount of environmental tactics required to survive.
This game’s E3 trailer was very interesting to watch, seeing a post-apocalyptic world that doesn’t feature zombies really caught my attention. Not that I hate zombies or anything, it just seemed like at one point we got quite a bit of zombie themed games. However, from what I’ve seen from Horizon was really unique and different and even caught my interest.
Speaking of ‘different,’ we see a natural world filled with technical skyscrapers and new buildings eroded and covered with trees and grass, while at the same time, we see robo-dino-creatures that roam the land. And from the video, we know that tribes are sprawled across the unique land as well as different factions of tribes ranking in different positions over each other, while trying to re-establish the world after an apocalyptic event occurred hundreds of years before. Sony did a sit down with the developers via their official PlayStation channel to discuss some of the details of the game in a 14 minute video you can see below.

Peering deeper into the video, we only got to see the bow and arrow, and the rope-caster, but from those two weapons we got to see some cool features spark out, like pinning a monster down with the rope-caster and how it really slowed it down, similar to the game Vindictus. The bow and arrow not only wrecked havoc on the big dino-bot she came across, but allowed her to use its own weapon against it.

https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/horizon-zero-dawn-ps4/ Horizon Zero Dawn is an exhilarating new action role playing game exclusively for the PlayStation 4 System, developed by the award winning Guerrilla Games, creators of PlayStation’s venerated Killzone franchise. Take on the role of skilled hunter Aloy as you explore a vibrant and lush world inhabited by mysterious mechanized creatures.
The gameplay reminds me of Monster hunter and a list of some other games like Attack on Titan a bit, and the reason I mention those two games specifically, is because of the maneuvering, the giant creatures, using rope to tie them down, and how you have to use the environment to your advantage to get around to their weak points.
If you are interested in Guerrilla Games’ newest IP, and if you want to get Horizon: Zero Dawn, it will arrive on the Playstation 4 sometime in 2016.
