CI Games released the first look at the upcoming Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 by rolling out an E3 2015 trailer. This comes just ahead of the company doing a closed session demo with press attending the big trade show event in Los Angeles, California.
The new game will feature improved, realistic sniping, customizable rifles and a lot of scouting and killing, as per usual with the series. However, what’s new is that every kill will come with a consequence. It’s not just fire and forget anymore. The developers mention in the video below that players will now have to get out of a tight situation after taking out the target.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is a tactical shooter video game developed and published by City Interactive for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC utilizing the CryEngine 3 Game Engine. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▼Find Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 online▼▬▬▬▬▬▬ ● Website: www.sniperghostwarrior3.com ▬▬▬▬▬▬▼Social Media▼▬▬▬▬▬▬ Twitter: https://twitter.com/SniperTheGame Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SniperGhostWarrior YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/cityinteractive
It’s nice that games will finally have this kind of mechanic available; reactive AI and environments working against you is the perfect way to give the game an added sense of thrills and danger. In too many games it’s often required to kill a target, get to the extraction and then the mission ends. With Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 the game has a larger, open world and that means gamers will have to exercise a bit more caution with getting into and out of dangerous situations. That, in my opinion, seems like it could add greatly to the replay and fun factors.
Marek Tyminski, CEO of CI Games commented about the upcoming title for home consoles and PC, saying…
“We’re deep into development on the game, our next big production that we’ll provide a more in-depth look at during E3 2015,” … “We’re dedicated to taking this franchise to the next level and look forward to giving gamers a taste of what to expect.”
The game will feature a non-linear narrative and AAA-quality gameplay. However, looking over the brief bits of footage in the video above seems to indicate either scripted QTEs or the game has some really dynamic, cinematic looking gameplay segments. I’m leaning toward scripted QTE segments.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 is a long ways off and isn’t due for release until 2016. You can keep an eye on the game’s progress by hitting up the official website.
