Overkill Software and 505 Games have announced that the release date for Payday 2: Crimewave Edition for the Xbox One and PS4 is June 12th. It’s right there in the midst of the E3 warzone and will be in the middle of the hype nukes. I have no idea how well the game will fare on the home consoles when E3 will be keeping gamers glued to the monitor like Kanye West Googling his own name every time he cuts the cheese, but at least we know when the game will arrive for the eighth-gen twins.
As mentioned in the press release…
“The new edition is loaded with over a year’s worth of DLC packs and content updates including the popular Big Bank Heist, and even the addition of “Clover,” the first female heister. Action filled crime sprees look better than ever on next-gen consoles with improved frame rate, better textures and 1080p resolution.“
A year’s worth of Payday 2 DLC… fascinating. All the major DLC packs will be present in the game, that includes the Armored Transport DLC, the Bank Heist DLC, the Gage Assault Pack and all the other DLC packs that Overkill Software rolled out since the game’s release in 2013.
The only thing I’m curious about is whether or not Xbox One and PS4 owners will get the recent western DLC pack that just dropped for PC users?
Anyway, there’s a brief promo trailer for the upcoming Crimewave Edition for the eighth-gen consoles that you can check out below.
WTF is Payday? Rob banks. Rob jewelry stores. Rob museums. Get paid! Coming to PS4 and Xbox One June 16th. Pre order today to unlock the Hard Time Loot Bag! http://bit.ly/1DCBlSg Hard Time Loot Bag contents: – A red dot weapon sight modification available for use on all rifle weapons.
What they don’t mention in that video above is that on the home consoles there are a few new extras added, including an exclusive new skull mask for both Xbox One and PS4 users, as well as an exclusive skull mask just for PS4 owners and one just for Xbox One owners. New in-game mask and color patterns have also been added along with a bundle of in-game cash.
Payday 2 was easily one of my favorite games of 2013. I haven’t been able to keep up with all the game’s DLC roll outs, but it’s still pretty cool for what it is.
You can grab a copy of the game come June 12th or hit up the official Facebook page for more info.
