Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Video Discusses New Features, Weapons

One of the videos that came out of PAX East 2015 was a 21 minute playthrough demonstration by the folks at Machine Games that outlined some of the new weapons and features that have been added to the prequel, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood.

Eurogamer recently posted up the video that goes through one of the levels where the game moves through at a blazing 60 frames per second. You can check out the gameplay video below.

While we don’t get to see it in action all that much, we do get to see the pipe used as a climbing tool that also allows players to utilize stealth kills while they climb.

They do mention that the heavily armed super-soldiers can be taken down a lot easier using stealth takedowns with the pipe.

Some of the new weapons added to the stash includes a bolt-action sniper rifle that’s like a mix between the G42 and the M1 Garand. It looks good but seems a bit useless compared to some of the more fast-firing weapons. There’s a new pistol and a new shotgun as well.

The commentary talks a lot about the two different ways of playing, either as stealth or as a guns-a-blazin’ Rambo type. If you want to bamp the bad guys with a shoot first and think later approach… you can. If you want to sneak around and do a lot of stealth kills… you can.

If you’re not completely burned out on first-person shooters and you’re looking for something that falls back to the old-school of Wolfenstein 3D but with newer graphics, 1080p and 60fps specs on the systems that can handle it and pick the whole game up for the price of a shareware outing… that’s right, only $19.99.

You can look to pick up Wolfenstein: The Old Blood come May 5th, 2015 for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It appears to be one of those games where it’s a decent amount of content for the right price, almost like Interceptor Entertainment’s Rise of the Triads remake. You can learn more about the game by paying a visit to the official website.
