Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae Behemoth Battle Video

The Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae demo is up and available for those of you who purchased Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for the Xbox One or PS4. The demo lets you explore an isolated area within the game’s massive world, including doing battle with the giant Behemoth boss. If you wanted to see how the whole battle plays out or check out a few guided tips on how to beat the boss and use the Ramuh summon, you can check out a quick and dirty video that gets it done.

YouTuber Justin Boutet has a near six-minute video of the Behemoth battle. That’s right, it’s only a six minute fight, including the summon of Ramuh. You can check out the fight below.

MP conservation is key during some of these longer fights. Keep a close eye on that gauge and make sure that you’re timing your attacks and leaving enough on the bar to warp away if you need to or dodge on the fly.

The Behemoth’s pattern is pretty easy to get down and boy-oh-boy anyone coming off a game like Monster Hunter or RaiderZ should be right smack dab at home with the battle system and memetic patterns of the Behemoth and how to time your combos between specific rote attacks from the boss.

For the tail swing just go for a role. When the Behemoth goes to stomp on you just run between his legs.

Once your life gets down to the red zone after fighting with the Behemoth for a bit, you can summon in Ramuh by holding down ‘X’. You’ll know it worked once the purple lightning starts filling up the darkened sky around you.

I think the whole thing looks quite marvelous, specially seeing that some of the tech from Agnis Philosophy with the Luminous Engine seems to have made the cut in Final Fantasy XV, specifically the particle effects. While they may not be the same level of density or grade as the procedural particles with dynamic, independent physics from Agnis Philosophy demo, they’re still a real sight to behold.

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae is available right now with the purchase of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for the eighth-gen twins. Square has yet to nail down a final release window for Final Fantasy XV, but I would be surprised to see it slip into early 2016. Need more info? Feel free to check out the official website.
