During Nintendo’s Direct on Friday, they dedicated the episode to showcasing more than 20 minutes of gameplay footage for the upcoming Wii U exclusive from Monolith Soft, Xenoblade Chronicles X. In addition to the new footage, Nintendo announced a bundle deal for the Wii U in Japan.
DualShockers caught wind of the news and concisely compiled all the goods into a neat little article. You can check out the 24 minute video below.
As for the bundle, you can check out the list of the bundle contents courtesy of My Nintendo News…
“You’ll get a 32GB Wii U console, Wii U GamePad, a copy of the game, an Xenoblade Chronicles X art book, a special map, and 1,000 yen pre-paid card.”
I’m curious if Nintendo will take this opportunity to extend the courtesy of this bundle to North American and European gamers, too? It’s easily one of the more anticipated games due out in 2015 and it readily caught my eye when it first appeared a few years ago with brief snippets and trinkets of gameplay.
As showcased in the video above, players will have a full interactive experience inside and outside of the massive cityscape. You can interact with the townsfolk, take on missions, upgrade your character, grab a mech, upgrade your mech, head out into the wild and kick some serious monster butt.
I like the way the game looks, even though some people complained about the character designs. I think the cold steel look juxtaposed with the soft suburban designs helps with the game’s wildly diverse visual aesthetics. You also have the really exotic outdoor locations with giant, unique monsters. This game could be something really special.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is due for release this year and I’m sure we’ll get to see more by the time E3 rolls around.
