Final Fantasy XV Demo Trailer Gives A Glimpse At Dungeon Combat

Thinking about going spelunking but suffer from a bad case of claustrophobia? Well, Square Enix has you covered with Final Fantasy XV, given that the game has you venturing deep into some dark, light-deficient caves where creepy crawlers lurk in the omnipresent shadows.

Attack of the Fanboy spotted the latest trailer from Square Enix that clocks in at just over the two minute mark, showing the Abercrombie & Fitch crew into the thin mountainous crevice where flashlights and a stomach from of steel guts are standard requirements. You can check out the video trailer below.

Dubbed Episode Duscae, the demo for Final Fantasy XV will give gamers a small taste of what’s to come from the highly anticipated JRPG when Final Fantasy Type-0 HD launches for the Xbox One and PS4.

That’s right, the demo of Final Fantasy XV is bundled in with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which contains a retrieval digital code for Xbox One and PS4 owners to get their hands on Episode Duscae.

The combat in the game is very similar to the Tales of titles, insofar that it’s an active battle system that borderlines on non-targeting mechanics. There’s a lot of manual and micromanagement control put into the hands of players, as they’ll be able to equip various weapons, skills and upgrades from the character menu, but the gameplay itself will require players to manually react to the world around them by dodging, parrying and pulling off timed combos.

I’m going to reserve my excitement until I can see more of the game. Right now, I’m still a bit more excited for Xenoblade Chronicles X since everything I’ve seen of that game screams “awesome!”

You can look for the demo to go live for Final Fantasy XV when Final Fantasy Type-0 HD launches for the Xbox One and PS4 on March 17th. Need more info? Feel free to visit the official website.
