Some new DLC has arrived for Sniper Elite 3, the popular third-person shooter that has taken the gaming arena by storm due to being a middle-budget title that didn’t suck bad enough to warrant a purchase from most action fans. The latest update for the game features a free Plantation map for all the platforms and an accompanying weapon update called the Eastern Front pack. The weapon pack is paid DLC, though. So you won’t be shooting people in new ways for free, only playing on new maps for free.
The new map sees players traversing through the swampy areas of the North African jungle while offering players trench-based warfare and open areas for perfect sniping capabilities. A lot of the action takes place around an actual plantation with a few cover spots and hiding place for utilitarian players.
You can actually see the new multiplayer map in action courtesy of a YouTube upload provided by Revanhun15. The guy seems to have trademarked his name, so careful where you use it… he might sue you… … nah, I’m just kidding with you… … or am I?
Sniper Elite 3 pulled out some surprising review scores for mostly not sucking the way some people thought it would. Rebellion Games has been on a rather uneasy streak of game releases and it was more surprising that the game pulled through with decent play mechanics than what some critics (and gamers) were expecting.
One of the more popular features of the game is the x-ray mechanic, something that was detailed in a compilation video that nearly went viral. In fact, one of the highlights of the game is watching a bullet travel in slow motion to its target and destroying key bodily features in total somatic decimation.
Anyway, the new paid DLC probably would have been a free mod pack back in the day, but some companies have to pay the bills, eh? The free map is available right now and the paid weapon pack is available, too. You can learn more by paying a visit to the game’s official website.
