Meditating While Looming

Sunday, November 29, 2015

At around 8pm, I decided to start looming a pair of legwarmers in plum-berry colored chenille yarn. I finished on leg. It looks nice, soft and warm. The movie, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest came on, and I continued looming while watching the movie. I started working on the second leg, but I noticed it is getting late. It is 12:30am now, and I probably should stop and continue tomorrow. I am sure I can finish it sometime tomorrow within two or three hours.

This looming is meditative, as well as it can be tiring if done for long hours. So, I need occasional breaks when I am looming a project, such as getting up and stretching or just walking around and doing something else. I think 12:30am is a good time to stop. Next time that I loom, I think I will light a small candle for meditative purpose.

The movie, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, is interesting, but disturbing, especially the electric shock scene, where Jack Nicholson’s character is strapped down, and they put a mouth piece inside his mouth, before the send volts of electric current through his brain. I wonder if it is just good acting, or they really gave Jack electric shock to make the scene appear really because he did a good job.

I should get ready to go to bed. It is already Monday morning. I am getting tired, but not really sleepy. I think I will just do my nightly routine before bedtime and relax in bed until I go to sleep.
