Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

IMG_1014

I love cosmetics and skincare products. So each time I see something new, I want to try it. If it’s got gorgeous packaging, I’m a goner. I like everything that comes in pretty, girlie packaging. So when I caught sight of the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in one of my local pharmacies, I just had to have it. I thought it looked so pretty, and couldn’t wait to take it home to try it.

This is basically a toner-cum-makeup remover; so forget the fancy name.

What Garnier Says About It

  • Good even for sensitive skin
  • Hypoallergenic
  • No rinsing required
  • May be used on the face, lips and eyes
  • Gently cleanses and removes makeup all in one easy step
  • Fragrance free
  • Naturally derived ingredients

I was very happy to see all this on the packaging, the product may as well have been made for me! I also liked the following:

  • Big 400 ml bottle, which is unusual
  • Very affordable
  • The list of ingredients is very short, which means less chance of harmful ‘nasties’ in the product
  • The pretty packaging

My Verdict

I have only ever used this product a few times, as few as say 2-3 times since I bought it. I really wanted to like it, but Alas! I just didn’t feel as if my skin felt squeaky clean after using it. Usually, after using even the cheapest of toners, my skin glows and just looks….clean. Not so with my Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water! It almost felt like I was using water, maybe mixed with a little glycerine.

What’s more, I’ve also observed that each time I use this product, my skin breaks out! My skin is not the most sensitive, and can usually take a lot of new products. I don’t know if it’s coincidence or whatever, but every single time I’ve used this product, my skin breaks out in unsightly spots that take forever to disappear. I’ve looked at the ingredients again, and can’t work out what’s not agreeing with my skin. So overall, I’d regretfully give this product a 2 star rating out of 5.

Have you seen this product before? If you’ve used it, what are your thoughts on it?
