Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II: A Review

I’m a self-confessed cosmetics junkie, and have over the years tried many, many skin care products. Some I’ve loved, some I’ve hated. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II certainly falls in the former category. It’s quite a mouthful, but it really does deliver, and then some!

The Verdict

I have used this ‘wonder serum’ off and on over the past years, and in my opinion, it does exactly what it says on the can. It’s not exactly cheap, but not outrageously expensive either. But on my budget, I’m not always able to buy it, and hence the gaps in use. If I had the choice, I’d never be without this product.

The instructions on how to use it are very clear and simple to follow. A little goes a long way, because you only need a few drops at night. Because you only use it once a day, it really does last a good while. On that basis, I’d say it’s well worth every penny. I really like the packaging too. I like that the bottle is plastic, so you never run the risk of dropping and breaking it. From a hygiene standpoint, you have a little plunger that dispenses the product. I’m happy to say it has never broken down on me, or failed to work.

In terms of efficacy, I know different people’s skin will react differently to different products. This serum however, seems to agree with many skin types across the whole spectrum. It goes on and sinks right into the skin very easily.

Whenever I use this serum, my skin seems to be ‘happy’, and really perks up! I’ve always had horrible acne which comes and goes, and because of that, I’m very susceptible to uneven skin tone. I credit this serum with being one of the products that have helped tackle my unsightly and heavily hyper-pigmented skin. I have greasy skin as well as large pores, but I notice that the serum really helps in reducing pore size, something I’m not sure they mention in their promise. I don’t know how many people have oily but dehydrated skin? I know it sounds weird, but that used to be me! –and you guessed it, this serum magically took care of that problem for me! I no longer suffer from that, even though I’m not using the serum at the moment. My skin does look younger and fresher, although admittedly, that’s due in part to genes. While I’ve always been afflicted by acne and all manner of skin problems, people have always told me that I look way younger than my actual age.

Would I Recommend It?

In a heartbeat! I’d urge anyone who craves gorgeous skin to go out, or even take to the ‘net and order this product. Whatever you do, JUST buy it! It’s like a one-stop shop product for all manner of skin ailments, all the sins you want to magic away. It’s truly one of my Holy Grail products in my arsenal of beauty products.

Have you ever tried Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II? What were your thoughts? Do you have any skin care product that you swear buy that you refuse to be without?

My Own

Vitamin C Serum

One of my beauty regime staples Vitamin C serum. I discovered it a few years ago through a beauty discussion forum. Once I started using it, I was hooked. I read somewhere that women would do well to start using Vitamin C serum in their early twenties, so I wish I’d discovered it a lot sooner for sure.

Vitamin C serum looks oily, but is very easily absorbed, leaving no residue whatsoever. My skin positively glows and perks up when I’m using it. For this reason, it has become a staple in my arsenal of beauty products. It doesn’t always come cheap, but in my opinion, it’s worth every penny!

So What Is Vitamin C Serum?

Vitamin C serum is a natural skin care product that has for the last few years been causing a buzz in the beauty industry. Vitamin C can also be found in high-end beauty products, with many of the best beauty houses in the cut-throat beauty industry scrambling to produce the best quality and most luxurious Vitamin C serums, creams and lotions. We really are spoilt for choice in that regard!

What Does Vitamin C Serum Do?

Vitamin C serum is one of the most powerful antioxidants in skin care. As a result, it helps slow down the aging process by protecting skin against free radicals. Here’s how else Vitamin C serum addresses many other beauty concerns:

  • Prolonged use has been proven to aid collagen production, promoting firmer skin
  • Improves the appearance of wrinkles
  • Vitamin C serum brightens and evens out skin tone
  • A natural sunscreen, Vitamin C also offers some protection against harmful UV rays, by improving the efficacy of your sunscreen
  • May reduce inflammation and trauma to skin, thus preventing further damage to skin

* Results can be seen within approximately 6 months of consistent Vitamin C serum use.

What To Look For When You’re Looking For Your Vitamin C Serum

There are different types of Vitamin C, but sitting pretty at the top of the list is Ascorbic Acid, also known as L-ascorbic acid. Out of all the vitamin C’s, this is the most researched and most widely used in beauty products.

Look out for as high a concentration as you can get between 15-20%. The price increases the higher the concentration. The higher the concentration, the more effective your serum works in addressing the most stubborn skin concerns.

Because Vitamin C serum can be highly unstable and spoils easily, always opt for dark bottles and store it in a cool, dark place. I sometimes store mine in the fridge, if it gets too hot.

Have you ever tried Vitamin C serum; if you did, what were your thoughts?
