Westlife- Turnaround / Face to Face: Top 10 Singles in US and UK / Memorable Chorus of a Song

Westlife- Turnaround
United States- Westlife’s last album witb Bryn McFadden was not released in America again, thus, failure to score a top 10 hit for the album.

United Kingdom- Westlife came back in this album after their greatest hit album “Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Volume 1”. Three singles were officially released from the album and check their top 10 hits in United Kingdom:
Hey Whatever- #4
Mandy- #1
Obvious- #3
All the three singles from the album went to the top 10 again. With all the singles released from this album, they accumulated a total of 17 top 10 hits. Number 1 hits stand to total of 13. “Mandy” became the number 1 single off the album.

The biggest hit from the album was “Mandy” which became very popular through Barry Manilow. I chose the number 3 hit “Obvious” to share not just because it is an original song, rather, it is also a great ballad. Check the song below:

Obvious (Chorus)
I’ve made it obvious
Done everything but sing it
(I’ve crushed on you so long, but on and on you get me wrong)
I’m not so good with words
And since you never notice
The way that we belong
I’ll say it in a love song

Westlife- Face to Face
United States- The album had a song which featured an American singer, but it’s not enough for them to score a top 10 hit.

United Kingdom- Westlife released three singles off “Face to Face”. They scored hit songs again from the album and check their top 10 hits:
You Raised Me Up- #1
When You Tell Me That You Love Me (with Diana Ross)- #3
Amazing- #4
Westlife scored their 14th number 1 hit through the Josh Groban original “You Raised Me Up”. With total of top 10 hits in UK, Westlife already had total of 20 through the singles from this album.

The guys’ number 1 single from the album was “You Raised Me Up”. However, I am sharing “Amazing” as it is an original song.

Amazing (Chorus)
And all I’ve been doing is protecting
A lie for the sake of my pride
While all the others set me thinking
we could be more than just amazing

Album’s Singles Review: “Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Volume 1” and “Turnaround” by Westlife

Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Volume 1 (compilation album)
After three hit albums, Westlife released their compilation album “Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Volume 1”. The album featured their hits plus new tracks and singles were released. The album was a hit reaching top 10 in many countries. It went to number 1 in UK again and gone 6x platinum.

Unbreakable
“Unbreakable” was released to lead the compilation album “Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Volume 1”. The ballad became a big hit especially number 1 position in United Kingdom.
Rate: 8.25 out of 10

Tonight
“Tonight” was the released as the second single for “Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Volume 1”. However, it is the A-side of “Miss You Nights”. The song just sounds cliche to me. It peaked at number 3 in United Kingdom.
Rate: 6.25 out of 10

Miss You Nights
“Miss You Nights” used to be the B-side of the song “Tonight”. It is a melancholic ballad similar to their old songs. Seems the album released songs that were ballads.

Turnaround (album)
“Turnaround” was the fourth official studio album by Westlife. It was released after their compilation album “Unbreakable: The Greatest Hits Volume 1”. It was also the last album Bryan McFadden stil a member of the group. As usual, it is a pop album with too many downtempo tracks. It went to number 1 again in United Kingdom with platinum award from BPI.

Hey Whatever
“Hey Whatever” was released as the first single from “Turnaround”. It is a pop song with different style from their previous songs. It peaked lower though at number 4 in UK.
