The Corrs- In Blue / Borrowed Heaven: Top 10 Singles in US and UK / Memorable Lyrics of a Song

The Corrs- In Blue
United States- The Corrs achieved mainstream success in America with the album “In Blue”, which went platinum there. But only one single really made it to the major chart. “Breathless” was their biggest hit in the country, but it failed to reach the top 10. It only peaked at number 34.

United Kingdom- With their success with their previous record “Talk On Corners”, The Corrs again achieved success from their LP “In Blue”. They had scored at least three singles to chart, but let’s see which song/s made it to the upper 10.
Breathless- #1
The Corrs only had one top 10 single from the album, but they at least scored their first ever number 1 hit with “Breathless”. Their follow-up singles “Irresistible” and “Give Me a Reason” only sat at number 20 and 27 respectively.

For the first time, The Corrs scored their first Billboard Hot 100 hit, as well as UK number 1 hit “Breathless”. It was also their biggest hit internationally. Enjoy the hit song by The Corrs below:

Breathless (Chorus)
So go on, go on, come on, leave me breathless
Tempt me, tease me, until I can’t deny
This loving feeling (loving feeling)
Make me long for your kiss
Go on (go on), go on (go on)
Yeah…
Come on
Yeah…

The Corrs- Borrowed Heaven
United States- The Corrs released the album in United States again but no single ever made to the Hot 100. At least, their single “Summer Sunshine” charted at the Adult Contemporary charts.

United Kingdom- The Corrs achieved minimal success from the album “Borrowed Heaven”. However, they had charted inside the top 10. Check what single is it:
Summer Sunshine- #6
Just like “In Blue”, the album only scored one top 10 hit through “Summer Sunshine”. But this song only peaked at number 6. “Angel”, the second single, peaked at number 16, while “Long Night” settled at number 31.

“Summer Sunshine” was the only top 10 hit off “Borrowed Heaven”. Internationally, it was also the biggest hit from the record. Try to check the song below:

Summer Sunshine (Chorus)
In the heat of summer sunshine
I miss you like nobody else
In the heat of summer sunshine
I kiss you, and nobody needs to know

The Corrs- Talk On Corners: Top 10 Songs in US and UK / Memorable Chorus in a Song

The Corrs- Talk On Corners
United States- The Corrs had released their album “Talk On Corners”. The album hit the top 100 but no singles are able to male it to the top 10. No singles even made to Hot 100, though they were known there.

United Kingdom- The Corrs had been big stars in United Kingdom and “Talk On Corners” has been a top seller in 1998. However, as the first three singles were released, nothing reached the top 10. Their singles which went to top 10 were:
Dreams- #6
What Can I Do (Tin Tin Out Remix)- #3
So Young- #6
Runaway (Tin Tin Out Remix)- #2
The Corrs had a total of four singles to reach the top 10. It started with their remake of Fleetwood Mac’s hit “Dreams”. “What Can I Do” which charted at a low position, came back with a remix which became a hit at number 3, and followed by “So Young” at number #6. “Runaway” was initially released for “Forgiven, Not Forgotten” album but was less successfull then. It became a success with the re-release which was a remixed one, and peaked at number 2. Their singles “Only When I Sleep” and “I Never Really Loved You Anyway” only peaked at number 58 and 43 respectively. Those were memorable songs though.

The Corrs did well with “Runaway” which peaked at number 2. I also thought of the number 3 hit “What Can I Do”. But I had chosen “Runaway” because it has been a very popular song from them. Enjoy that love song fromĀ  The Corrs and listen to the beautiful voice of Andrea Corr.

Runaway (Chorus)
Cause I have run away
I have run away, yeah…, yeah
I have run away, run away
I have run away with you
Cause I am falling in love (falling in love) with you
No never I’m never gonna stop
Falling in love with you…
With you…

Album’s Singles Review: The Corrs “Forgiven, Not Forgotten”

The Corrs had released their first album in 1995 and they went successful in some countries. Nevertheless, the album became more succesful the time their second album “Talk on Corners” is already selling millions when it reached a higher peak in United Kingdom. I love the sound from the album with pop, folk, and rock. Irish sound is very apparent in their songs, thanks to the violinist.

Runaway
This is just a love song where the woman just want to go with the guy anywhere. I love how Sharon Corr played the violin in this song. The song charted in several countries but wasn’t that successful. Its remix version which was heard from their second album “Talk on Corners” became a bigger hit in UK where it went to number 2. It also charted in Billboard Hot 100.
Rate: 8.5 out of 10

Forgiven, Not Forgotten
This title track was released as a single in few countries. The group went darker theme in its music video. Being released in limited countries, it failed to achieved a lustrous success.
Rate: 6.75 out of 10

The Right Time
“The Right Time” is a beautiful pop song with, of course, Irish flavor. The music video features the group in retro look or an old-fashioned kind of thing. The song charted in a number of countries, though, was not as successful as “Runaway”. It was a big hit in their country, Ireland.
Rate: 7.0 out of 10

Love to Love You
“Love to Love You” has been the first song from the group being played on FM radio station, which at the time, mostly A-listers were played om radio. The song which was released in some countries didn’t do much success.
Rate: 8.0 out of 10

Closer
“Closer” is a pop song and was the last release from “Forgiven, Not Forgotten” album. It was not released widely though and rarely seen on MTV.

10 Songs With “Sun”

As the sun goes up, it was like giving us another day and another hope. It gives us smile that we live with another day. Nice to hear some songs with sun as mostly were positive. In this list, includes songs with “sunshine” as it also refers to “sun”.

Natasha Beddingfield- Pocketful of Sunshine
If you are in such a difficult situation, instead staying in darkness, why not go out and escape and enjoy a pocketful of “sunshine” that can light up your day. This song was made a successful top 5 entry in Billboard Hot 100.

Gabrielle- Sunshine
When you really love someone, you compare them to the “sun” which serve as our light and guide after dark evenings. This became Gabrielle’s comeback UK top 10 hit.

The Corrs- Summer Sunshine
Been to recent cold days and missing this person you love like the heat of summer “sun” which was locked up during winter. This song brought The Corrs to the top 10 in many countries.

Katrina and the Waves- Walking on Sunshine
Just nice to listen to in a summer time and the sun is up and walk in the beach. This has became one of the great summer tunes as it went to the top 10.

Stevie Wonder- You are the Sunshine of My Life
Loving a girl which is like a “sunshine”, why not serenade her with this big number one song from Stevie Wonder?

Elton John and George Michael- Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me
Being in a troubeld relationship and fed up of giving light like the “sun”. Well, it is a realization for Elton John which took him to the top of the chart with George Michael.

Len- Steal My Sunshine
The “sunshine” is on you, but don’t let them steal that as it is like your happiness. This song went to the top 10 inseveral countries in 1999.

Gabrielle- Don’t Need the Sun to Shine
Some people can easily be please. If “sunshine” can please them, something under can still make them smile. This hit from Gabrielle (again) went to UK’ s top 10.

The Beatles- Here Comes the Sun
I just love this song as it is fun to listen to like having fun as the “sun” is up. This song has become one of The Beatles’ countless big hits.

Colbie Caillat- Brighter than the Sun
When in live with someone, and clearly love each other, you will feel that, that love is brighter than the “sun”. This song went to the top 50 in Bilboard.

Some facts from Wikipedia

Memorable Lines in Songs: The Corrs

The Irish siblings became successful during the second half of 1990s to early 2000s. The simple and beautiful voice of Andrea and the love songs they made were just soothing, especially when the violins play as well.

Runaway
” Cause I am falling in love with you
No never I’m never gonna stop
Falling in love with you”
This is just about love and never want to stop. The girl even wants to run away with the guy.

I Never Really Loved You Anyway
” And when you go I will remember
To send a thankyou note to that girl, (oh that girl)”
There’s sarcasm in this song. At the lines above, the girl is telling the guy to thank the girl he’s with now.

What Can I Do?
” What can I do to make you love me
What can I do to make you care”
It seems the girl has done anything and begging the guy what she can do so the guy will love her.

Radio
” So listen to the radio (listen to the radio)
And all the songs we used to know, oh, oh”
The guy and girl are apart and the girl just reminisce through listening to the radio.

Breathless
” I’m happy just to have you
You’re all the love I need somehow”
Just another love song which lacks meaning. It’s just about love and what the girl and guy do.

Irresistible
” See I want you to need me (the way I need you)
Just like I need you (the way I see you)”
Sounds like the cousin of “Breathless”, and it’s like the guy likes the girl and the other way around.

Summer Sunshine
” Now that you’ve left me, there’s no retur-ningĀ
I keep comparing, you’re always win-ning”
Seemed the girl and the guy had separated but the girl still love the guy and misses him.

All the Love in the World
” Don’t wanna wake up alone anymore
Still believing you’ll walk through my door”
There’s this longing that the girl feels and still hoping that the guy comes to her house.
