Album’s Singles Review: “Saints and Sinners” and “Studio 1” by All Saints

Saints and Sinners (album)
All Saints took quite awhile to release their second album, which was released about 3  years after their debut album’s release. There are changes of sound in the album from their debut. “Saints and Sinners” has lots of electronic music which was similar to Madonna’s sound in her “Ray of Light” album. The album became the girls’ only number 1 album in United Kingdom and has gone 2x platinum by BPI.

Pure Shores
“Pure Shores” is actually used for the movie “The Beach” which starred the talented Leonardo DiCaprio. It was eventually included for their album “Saints and Sinners”. The song is an electronic pop track which is a change for the group’s sound. It was the most successful single for the album as it reached top 10 in several countries and a number 1 position in UK.

“Black Coffee” is actually the official carrier single for “Saints and Sinners. The song is somewhat relaxing and it is the only kind of music you rarely hear. The single was a top 10 hit particularly in Europe. In United Kingdom, it was a number 1 hit.

All Hooked Up
“All Hooked Up” was the final single for All Saints’ second album”. It is a fusion of electronic and R&B which is catchier than the previous single. It charted in some countries and reached number 7 in United Kingdom.

“Studio 1” is the comeback album by All Saints after 6 years. The album contains pop, R&B and elctronic sounds. It reached number 40 in United Kingdom.

Rock Steady
“Rock Steady” was the first single from “Studio 1”. It sounds quite different from their othet sound. It charted in some countries and it was a number 3 hit in United Kingdom.

“Chick Fit” was the last single from “Studio 1. It is a R&B pop song which didn’t do well in the charts, the least popular single by the girls.
