Recap: Your Face Sounds Familiar 2 September 26, 2015

It’s Saturday night once again and I am on my Saturday night habit of watching one of my favorite shows, Your Face Sounds Familiar 2. Here’s the recap of tonight’s episode of the show.

The show started with Melai Cantiveros showing her impersonation. Everybody is always anticipating who will she impersonate. During the first week of the episode, she nailed Madonna and last week with Dionisia Pacquiao. Tonight, she impersonated G-Force head Teacher Georcelle, who’s also the teacher of impersonation of all the contestants.

The first performer for the night was KZ Tandingan who impersonated King of Reggae, Bob Marley. The song was “Waiting in Vain”. It’s never an easy job for a woman to sing like a man so it’s never expected, and she failed with that. KZ, I think, is an artist of her own and based on her previous performances and tonight’s, she’s not that a good impersonator.

Next performer was Myrtle Sarosa who jump back to several decades with her impersonation of Armida Siguion Reyna. Knowing Myrtle is a young artist and Armida was decades back, it is difficult to impersonate such artist. I think she did well, in contrary with the judges’ comments.

The best performance for tonight, I think, was Michael Pangilinan who sang “Jealous” by Nick Jonas. He haven’t got the face exactly but the voice really nailed it. He’s one of the best contenders when it comes to voice.

Comedian and singer Kakai Bautista impersonated Sheena Easton with her big hit “Telephone”. It was a good performance and I rank her the second best for tonight.

The last performer was Eric Nicolas with his Bayani Agbayani performance of “Otso Otso”. It was a fair performance and I never saw Bayani in the performance except the song despite dancing at the top of judges’ table. It may be in contrast with the judges but I really didn’t see it clicked.

If I am going to rank tonight’s performance, it would be:

1. Michael Pangilinan

2. Kakai Pangilinan

3. Myrtle Sarosa

4. Eric Nicolas

5. KZ Tandingan

Rank may change tomorrow as 3 remaining artists will perform.

Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 2 airs every Saturday and Sunday night on ABS-CBN 2.
