Music 10 O’s: O-Town to One Direction

1. O-Town
They were the winner of the TV show “Making the Band”. After that, they produced hit singles such as “Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing”. But their success was short termed.

2. OutKast
They were one of the best hip-hop duo ever. I love their song “Ms. Jackson” from “Stankonia” album. Their most successful album was “Speakerboxx / The Love Below” and my favorite from the album was “Hey Ya”.

3. Obsessed
This is a song by Mariah Carey from her album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel”. It was her song that was meant to diss Eminem, who first dissed her.

4. Ode to My Family
This is one of my favorite song from the Irish band The Cranberries. It wasn not a happy song, but I love it as it was longing to be with your family, as well as the place or hometown where you had grown up.

5. Oh Mother
This was a song by Christina Aguilera that was for her mother. It was from the album “Back to Basics” which has a classic sound on it.

6. Owl City
I love this one man band who had the hit song “Fireflies”. He achieved success again when he collaborated with Carly Rae Jepsen. It was the song “Good Time” which became his second hit.

7. On the 6
The first album by Jennifer Lopez. It was multiple platinum and produced the hit songs “If You Had My Love” and the club-ready song “Waiting for Tonight”.

8. On a Night Like This
It was a dance hit by Aussie singer Kylie Minogue. It follows the comeback hit of her “Spinning Around” which was a hit in 2000.

9. One Call Away
A song by Charlie Puth which followed his hit “Marvin Gaye” with Meghan Trainor. Rapper Chingy had his own song with that title too.

10. One Direction
The biggest boyband during the recent years. They were from UK which their popularity was extended worldwide. They were on hiatus now, but before it happened, Zayn left the group and had gone solo.

O-Town- O-Town: Top 10 Singles in US and UK and Memorable Lyrics of a Song

O-Town- O-Town
United States- O-Town was formed from the hit US TV reality show “Making the Band”. This album prompted the guys to success as two of its singles made it to the top 10. Here are those songs:
Liquid Dreams- #10
All or Nothing- #3
O-Town actually had three singles from the album in the country. Obviously, two singles reached the top 10. “We Fit Together”, the third single failed to reach the Hot 100. Their biggest single from the album has been “All or Nothing” for reaching the top 3. “Liquid Dreams” was certified Gold by RIAA.

United Kingdom- O-Town achieved success in UK too. The album had scored two top 10 hit singles too. Those singles were:
Liquid Dreams- #3
All or Nothing- #4
As mentioned, the lads scored at least two top 10 hits in United Kingdom. Both songs reached the top 5. “Liquid Dreams” had peaked higher, though “All or Nothing” has been more notable. Their song “We Fit Together” only peaked at number 20. It could have been another hit from the album too. That time, O-Town had became one of the top boybands in United Kingdom and one of the top American boyband to grace UK charts.

Both singles Liquid Dreams” and “All or Nothing”, peaked inside the top 10 in US and UK. It is pretty obvious that “All or Nothing” has been their biggest single ever. Internationally, that song has been the biggest single from them too. So I picked that song to share. To enjoy the song, check its chorus and the music video:

All or Nothing (Chorus)
Cuz I want it all
Or nothing at all
There’s nowhere left to fall
When you reach the bottom it’s now or never
Is it all
Or are we just friends
Is this how it ends
With a simple telephone call
You leave me here with nothing at all

Album’s Singles Review: O-Town “O-Town” and “O2”

O-Town (album)
O-Town came to popularity after being the winner of a reality show which forms a boyband. They immediately achieved success from their debut album which scored a number of hits. This self-titled debut album of the lads had of course pop and R&B songs as many boybands then usually does. It has sold millions of copies which sales from US and UK helped after entering the chart in top 10 of albums.

Liquid Dreams
This is the first single off the band after winning the realitu show. The song is an upbeat pop ith low vocal register. The lyrics mentioned names of female celebrities who are the girl of their dreams, though, its lyrics was often misconceived. The song went to top 10 both in United States and United Kingdom.

All or Nothing
This is the best performing single of the group when it reached the top 10 in many countries, which it also peaked at the top 3 of Billboard Hot 100. The song sounds similar to Westlife ballads, and the Irish group even did their own version of it.
Rate 7.75 out of 10

We Fit Together
I can hear Craig David with the background music of the song. It is no better than “All or Nothing” but way better than “Liquid Dreams”. The song failed to chart at Hot 100,though entered the UK top 40.

Love Should Be a Crime
This track was released as the last single for “O-Town” album. It was a pop rock song and its music video was taken from their concert. It charted in UK top 40.
Rate: 5.5 out of 10

O2 (album)
O2 is the boyband’s second album. The album was less successful when released. It contained pop rock as heard on its carrier single. But R&B and teen pop can still be heard from the record.

These are the Days
This song which was the lead single from O2 is quite different from their past songs. It was built in pop rock sound and prefer this from their old songs. The song charted in US and UK but failed terribly comparing to their past works.

I Showed Her
This song is a ballad with R&B ballad music background. The song failed to chart elsewhere.
