In Demand Rappers Being Featured a Lot of Times

Rappers are very in demand in misic as their talent is often requested by other artists. They do the rap part and it gives them exposure and of course, rack up some money. There were some rappers who are often requested to contribute rap pieces in some songs and here’s the list of some of these rappers which many of the songs tehy were featured became successful:

Jay-Z
Jay-Z has been one of the most successful rappers especially in terms of total records sold. He is also one of the rappers who has been featured a lot of times. He has been featured in more than 50 released singles, and some of the most successful songs he was featured were 3 singles fron Beyonce, including “Crazy in Love”. Rihanna’s “Umbrella” was also highly successful which Jay was also featured.

2 Chainz
2 Chainz is just one of the rappers in the industry for not so long ago. But he’s already featured in a lot of songs with more than 40 by which, the most notable one was “Talk Dirty” by Jason Derulo.

Busta Rhymes
Busta Rhymes is one of the 1990’s rapper who still very relevant today. Aside from his hit songs, he has been featured in a lot of songs with more than 20. He’s been featured in big hits like “Don’t Cha” by the Pussycat Dolls and Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now”.

Ludacris
Ludacris has became one of the top rappers since early 2000’s. He’s been featured in a lot of hit songs. He’s been heard in about 50 singles by other artists. In early 2000’s, he’s been featured in Usher’s number 1 single “Yeah!”. He’s also featured twice in Justib Bieber’s singles which one of them is “Baby”.

Puff Daddy / P.Diddy / Diddy
Sean Combs had used a number of pseudonyms as mentioned above and featured in a number of songs by Mariah Carey, The Notorious B.I.G. and others. He was featured more than 30 times in offficial singles.

Drake
Drake is one of the biggest rappers today and he never left the Billboard charts, either his own singles or those he was featured. In a short period of time, he was already heard as a featured artist in more than 50 singles, which included the hit “What’s My Name?” by his rumored girlfriend, Rihanna.

Missy Elliott
Missy Elliott has been one of the most successful female rappers and she’s also being featured in a lot of singles. She may had took a break but she’s back recently with a hit single. She was heard in more than 40 singles which included hits by Mariah Carey and other singers.

Lil Wayne
Among all rappers, Lil Wayne can possibly the most in demand. He’s been featured in more than 100 titles which were released as official singles. Well, he had numerous hits by himself too. It included works with Chris Brown and “Down” by Jay Sean.

Pitbull
Pitbull’s music may be different from other rappers as his sound is not hip-hop. But he was featured several times in different singled. He was partnered a number of times with Jennifer Lopez which included “On the Floor” and in some singles of Chris Brown.

Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg was also a hit rapper in 1990’s and even until now. He had been featured more than 90 times in singles which included songs by Pussycat Dolls and Katy Perry.

Wiz Khalifa
Wiz Khalifa was known for his hit “Black and Yellow”, but he was also known for being featured in some singles. One of the most successful singles he was featured is “Payphone” by Maroon 5.

Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj is currently the reigning queen of rap for scoring a number of hit songs by herself. She was also featured in lots of singles ranging at about 50 titles, and included works with David Guetta, Justin Bieber and Madonna.

Top Movie Soundtrack Hits of the 1990s

With the success of every film comes a successful soundtrack too. Though it may not always be the case, some songs become more successful than the movie itself. Still, there’s success coming from that film, thanks to its soundtrack. 1990s saw a huge number of hit soundtracks and I made this list of soundtrack hits. (Note: the list or ranking was based from personal and commercial performance)

20. Britney Spears- (You Drive Me) Crazy

Teenager then, Britney Spears fits this song to the teenage film “Drive Me Crazy”. The song was rearranged which was called “Stop Remix”. It was a top ten hit which make the song more successful than the film

19. The Wallflowers- Heroes

Originally a David Bowie hit, The Wallflowers did their own cover for Godzilla movie. It was a top 30 hit in the US, which may not be on par with the film’s success.

18. Madonna- I’ll Remember

Considered one of her best works, the ballad became a big hit for Madge, even outrunning the success of the movie.

17. Coolio- Gangsta’s Paradise

One of the biggest hip-hop songs, the song’s sound is surely familiar to many. Both the film and the song was very successful. Also, credit goes to Michelle Pfeiffer.

16. The Wonders- That Thing You Do

This song from the film in the same title was a hit in US top ten but the film is less successful. Thanks to the Beatle-ish sound of the song.

15. Brandy- Sittin’ Up in My Room

This became the first single of Melanie off from Spice Girls which was written by Missy, herself, for the film “Why Do Fools Fall in Love”, which the song was a UK chart-topper and US top 3 hit.

This hip-hop hit from the former Fugees member, became a top 15 hit in US. Though, it is a bigger hit in Europe. It interpolated the 80s hit “Islands in the Stream”.

Top Female Rappers

I made this list since we only heard few female rappers in the music industry. This industry apparently have overabundance of male rappers as they dominates rap music world and had only a handful of female rappers who became notable.

Here’s the list of top 5 female rappers that made impact:

5. Lil Kim

Lil Kim has been industry for 2 decades and scored multiple hip-hop hits and platinum albums in the US. However, she became more known as she joined Christina Aguilera, Mya and Pink for the remake of “Lady Marmalade” as the theme of the hit musical film “Moulin Rouge”. She scored her biggest solo hit with the song “Magic Stick”. Her most notable and controversial appearance was when her breast was almost exposed with her wardrobe.

4. Lisa Lopes

Lisa Lopes became popular via her hit group TLC. They had numerous hit and multi-platinum albums like “Crazy Sexy Cool” and “Fanmail”. Her most memorable rap piece was the rap part of “Waterfalls”. Moreover, she had been featured in different songs which included the European and Asian hit “Never Be the Same Again” by former Spice Girl Melanie C. Her solo efforts didn’t made impact though

3. Iggy Azalea

Among the ladies in this list, Iggy is the most controversial based on her statements especially in social media. She’s the only female white rapper on the list too. Iggy achieved global success with hit single “Fancy” and her album which despite negative reviews achieve top 5 positions worldwide.

2. Nicki Minaj

Nicki achieved the most number of hits charted either solo hits or as featured artists. She also earned big hits which the three most famous songs of her were “Super Bass”, “Starships” and the controversial ” Anaconda”. She recently won a VMA for the song latter mentioned.

1. Missy Elliot

The top spot goes to Missy Elliot. She’s one of the most known not just a female rapper but also record producer and songwriter. She never tried to be controversial to boost sales, yet she scored multiple platinum albums in the US and had successful singles like “Get Ur Freak On” and “Work It”.
