Gwen Stefani- Love. Angel. Music. Baby.: Top 10 Singles in UK and US / Memorable Chorus of a Song

Gwen Stefani- Love. Angel. Music. Baby.
United States- Gwen Stefani’s first effort was a success in United States too. Her album “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.” has been a successful record for reaching 4x platinum mark awarded by RIAA. The album had six official singles in the country, but see what are those top 10 hits:
Rich Girl- #7
Hollaback Girl- #1
Gwen Stefani got two from her six singles to reach the top 10. She even got a number 1 hit with “Hollaback Girl” and number 7 with reggae infused “Rich Girl”. Despite only scoring two top 10 hits, she still achieved success from the singles “What You Waiting For?” at number 47, “Cool” at number 13, “Luxurious” at number 21, and “Crash” at number 49.

United Kingdom- Gwen Stefani was also successful with her debut solo “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.” in United Kingdom for going 3x platinum as certified by BPI. The album released five singles with three of them going to top 10 as listed below:
What You Waiting For?- #4
Rich Girl- #4
Hollaback Girl- #8
Three singles off “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.” were top 10 hits. Two songs reached number 4 with “What You Waiting For?” and followed by “Rich Girl”. The hip-hop track “Hollaback Girl” hit number 8.

The songs I had chosen to share was “Rich Girl” despite the negative reviews. Views on the song varies and I sensed something positive on it. Also, “Hollaback Girl” is somewhat non-sense for me, though I think it is the catchiest. Check that hit song below:

Rich Girl
All the riches baby, won’t mean anything
All the riches baby, bring what your love can bring
All the riches baby, won’t mean anything
Don’t need no other baby
Your lovin’ is better than gold and I know
If I was rich girl (na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na nah)
See, I’d have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl
No man could test me, impress me, my cash flow would never ever end
Cause I’d have all the money in the world, if I was a wealthy girl

Album’s Singles Review: Gwen Stefani “Love. Angel. Music. Baby”

After her success as the vocalist of No Doubt, Gwen Stefani finally released her first album, which prior to this, she was featured in some songs by other artists. “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.”, or simply called as “L.A.M.B.” contains pop songs with electropop, R&B, hip-hop, and dancehall tunes, something different from what she did in her earlier career with No Doubt. The album was successful after going multi-platinum, particularly in America.

What You Waiting For?
Gwen Stefani brought out a different sound in this debut solo single of her. “What You Waiting For?” gave us an electropop sound with dance. It became a hit worldwide , especially in Europe where it reached top 10. In America, it was a moderated hit when it peaked inside the top 50.

Rich Girl (ft. Eve)
Gwen Stefani reunited with rapper Eve after collaborating together with Eve’s hit “Let Me Blow Your Mind”, a hit hip-hop track in 2001. The song is a reggae / dancehall track which became a hit worldwide reaching the top 10 in every country including United Kingdom where it peaked at number 3, and top 10 in the US.

Hollaback Girl
“Hollaback Girl” served as the third single from “L.A.M.B.” and became Gwen Stefani’s third consecutive hit. The song became Gwen’s first number one hit Billboard Hot 100, while it reached the top 10 anywhere. It is a different tune from her as it was a hip-hop track and something can be sung in cheering competitions

“Cool” is a pop song with 80’s influence in it. According to Gwen, it is about being good friends with your ex¬† and being in good relationship with their respective partners which pertains to bandmate Tony Kanal. The song went to top 20 in many countries.

“Luxurious” is an R&B song in a subtle way compared to her more upbeat previous singles. It managed to hit the charts but at lower positions compared to her previous four singles.

“Crash” is the final single from “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.”, and it charted in America. It was a good song and I think it is better than “Luxurious”.
