Carly Rae Jepsen- Kiss: Top 10 Singles in US and UK / Memorable Chorus of a Song

Carly Rae Jepsen- Kiss
United States- Carly Rae Jepsen achieved the milestone of her career through the number 6 album “Kiss”. But what she greatly achieved were the singles which did great at the charts. Here are those singles which were successful inside the top 10:
Call Me Maybe- #1
Good Time (with Owl City)- #8
Carly Rae Jepsen’s biggest hit was “Call Me Maybe” which reached the number 1. Aside from that, its music video has been viral. The song was awarded by RIAA with huge 9x platinum mark. “Good Time” which was her collaboration with Owl City and appeared on their respective albums went to number 8 and received a 2x platinum award.

United Kingdom- Carly Rae Jepsen had been successful in United Kingdom too with her singles. Here are those singles:
Call Me Maybe- #1
Good Time (with Owl City)- #5
“Call Me Maybe” was a huge hit in United Kingdom too when it peaked at number 1. It even achieved a 2x platinum award (by BPI) which was rarely achieved by other artists. Her collaboration with Owl City, “Good Time”, was very popular in UK too for reaching #5 with Gold Record award.

It’s kind of obvious that Carly Rae Jepsen had two big hits from the album. It is also obvious that her biggest hit from the album was “Call Me Maybe” which reached number 1 not just in US and UK, rather globally. The song is just a simple but a catchy pop track which sounds sugary for the ears. Enjoy the song as I share it below:

Call Me Maybe (Chorus)
Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here’s my number,
So call me, maybe!
It’s hard to look right
At you baby,
But here’s my number,
So call me, maybe!
Hey, I just met you,
And this is crazy,
But here’s my number,
So call me, maybe!
And all the other boys,
Try to chase me,
But here’s my number,
So call me, maybe!

Album’s Singles Review: Carly Rae Jepsen “Kiss” and “Emotion”

“Kiss” (album)
“Kiss” was released as the first album globally by Carly Rae Jepsen. The album contains pop songs, with more of dance pop and disco songs. It wasn’t that a very impressive album, but it had some highlights too and they gladly picked the right songs from the album. The album went to US top 10 but not as successful as expected.

Call Me Maybe
“Call Me Maybe” is a beautiful and catchy pop songs as its melody was too sweet for the ears. The song became a global smash after reaching number 1 worldwide and ended as one of the biggest selling singles worldwide.
Rate: 9.5 out of 10

Good Time (with Owl City)
This is a perfect follow up to “Call Me Maybe” since it is as fun, and catchy but below the previous single’s level when it comes to melody. The song was successful worldwide after reaching the top 10 in numerous countries
Rate: 8.5 out of 10

This Kiss
This pop song is good but not as good as the previous two singles. It doesn’t perform very well at the charts too going to low chart positions.
Rate: 7.25 out of 10

Tonight I’m Getting Over You
The song is dance-pop and catchy enough to be the second best song from “Kiss”. Good thing they picked the right songs from the album as a single as the remaining songs weren’t that great. The song charted in many countries which included top 40 placement in UK.
Rate: 8.75 out of 10

“Emotion” (album)
“Emotion” was the second international album of Carly Rae Jepsen. The album is very beautiful as it is a reminiscent of 1980’s pop sound and too sweet to listen to. Unfortunately, the album didn’t received much attention and was underrated despite being one of the best albums of 2015.

I Really Like You
I really, really, really like this song as it is catchy and fun. I think it is one of her best singles released. It was a great comeback but not as successful as “Call Me Maybe” despite the effort to match it. The song can still be considered as worldwide smash, including UK where it reached the top 3.
Rate: 9.5 out of 10

Run Away With Me
This is a good pop song, but I think there are better singles fitted to be the second single. The song charted worldwide but at low positions.
Rate: 8.0 out of 10

Your Type
I love the synth and sound of this song. It can be a better second single but it is still good being released. Hoping this song can catch up in music charts.
