Album’s Singles Review: Nickelback “Silver Side Up” and “The Long Road”

“Silver Side Up” (album)
Nickelback has been one of the most popular Canadian bands who successful fared in music charts worldwide. They had released two albums before “Silver Side Up”, but this album became their breakthough mainstream hit. It became one of the biggest selling rock albums in 2002 as it went to top 10 in many countries.

How You Remind Me
This single introduced the band to mainstream success when it reached number one in Billboard Hot 100, while top 10 in numerous countries. I love the song then when it was often played on radio especially the hours of rock songs were played.

Too Bad
“Too Bad” was the second release off “Silver Side Up”. Melodically, “How You Remind Me” was way better, while lyrically, this one is better which deals without pain not growing up with your father. The song did not perform that well in the US while it went top 10 in UK.

Never Again
“Never Again” is the third and last release from this album which failed to access the Hot 100.

“The Long Road” (album)
This album served as the band’s second mainstream successful album, but it failed to match their previous album as it performed and achieved half of the success of “Silver Side Up”. The tracks from the album is reminiscent of the previous record.

Someday
This song sounds like the brother of their song “How You Remind Me”. The music video is way better than “Remind” because of its story. The song was a hit and was their second highest performing song of them that time.

Figured You Out
“Figured You Out” served as the second release off “The Long Road”. The song failed to become a hit when it only peaked at number 65 in the US.

Feelin’ Way Too Damn Good
This song sounds way better than the previous single for me. Eventually, it performed better when it reached the top 50 in Billboard Hot 100.

Because of You
“Because of You” is a metal song by the band, which was only a rock chart hit.
