Lady Gaga United States- Lady Gaga garnered three albums which reached number 1. Her debut “The Fame” may had only peaked at number 2 but at least became her biggest selling album with 4x platinum according to RIAA. Her number one album started with “Born This Way” which was a million seller on its first weak. “Artpop” followed which was eventually a platinum seller, and the last was the collab with jazz singer “Tony Bennett”. United Kingdom- Lady Gaga had three number 1 albums in UK too. “The Fame” did very well which became her first number 1 album, which was BPI certified 9x platinum. Her sophomore effort “Born This Way” did well when it debuted at number 1. Her last album to reach number 1 was “Artpop”.
Adele United States- Adele has been a huge superstar in the United States. Her debut “19” peaked lower initially but has been able to catch after her second album’s success. It peaked at number 4 which already went 3x platinum. Her second effort “21” did very well when it topped the charts for many weeks. Now, the album was already certified 11x platinum. Her current album debuted at number 1 and was the fastest selling album ever when it sold more than 3.3 million. Currently, the album exceeded 8x platinum status by RIAA. United Kingdom-Adele is the top artist in UK during the last 10 years. The total of three albums she released went to number 1. Her first album “19” eventually reached 7x platinum by BPI. It was followed by the highly popular “21” which reached 16x platinum. Her new album “25” was currently 9x platinum.
Katy Perry United States- Katy Perry had her two albums to success after reaching number 1. While her debut “One of the Boys” went to number 9, it still went platinum Her two number 1 albums were “Teenage Dream” (RIAA 3x platinum certified) and the last one with “Prism”. United Kingdom- Katy Perry’s albums “Teenage Dream” and “Prism” both went to number 1. “Teenage Dream”, though, was her biggest seller when it reached 4x platinum by BPI

Beyonce United States- Beyonce had released at least a total of five studio albums. All of those albums debuted and reached the top of albums chart. Her first solo album which is “Dangerously In Love” debuted at number 1 and remains her biggest seller. It was followed by her record “B-Day” which was a fast seller and certified 3x platinum by RIAA. One of her notable albums was her third number 1 album “I Am… Sasha Fierce”. Her obviously fourth album “4” might have been her lowest selling album, but it still debuted at number 1. “Beyonce” was her fifth album, as well as her fifth number 1 album, topped the charts despite a surprise release, and was her fastest seller too. United Kingdom-Beyonce got the same success in United Kingdom despite only two of her five albums went to number 1. Those non-number 1 albums peaked inside the top 3 and went platinum to multi-platinum status. In fact, her third album which peaked at number 2 “I Am… Sasha Fierce” was her biggest selling albums in the country with BPI certification of 5x platinum. Her two number 1 albums in the country were “Dangerously In Love” and “4”.
Taylor Swift United States-Taylor Swift is among the biggest female singers during the last 10 years in America. She at least scored four of her five albums reached number 1. Her self-titled debut album may only had peaked at number 5 but it went to 5x platinum by RIAA. Her first number 1 album was her second release “Fearless” which was her top seller with 7x platinum. “Speak Now” was a success for selling more than a million copies in just a week and was certified 4x platinum. The same happened with “Red” for first week million sales and 4x platinum status. Her recent album “1989” also sold a million in one week and now at 5x platinum mark. United Kingdom-Taylor Swift had her two of four albums to reach number 1. The other two albums went to top 10. “Red” was her fourth album which became her first number 1. Her album “1989” reached number 1 and was her biggest seller at 3x platinum by BPI.
United States- Avril Lavigne seemed to follow the footsteps of fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette as a female rocker. She had success in United States after scoring two number 1 albums. Those albums were “Under My Skin” (her second album, 3x platinum), and ” The Best Damn Thing”. Her most successful LP which was “Let Go” has been a number 2 hit album and was RIAA certified with 7x platinum. United Kingdom- Avril Lavigne managed to score three albums to reach number 1 in United Kingdom. Her debut “Let Go” was her first which eventually reached 5x platinum by BPI. Her succeeding albums “Under My Skin” and The Best Damn Thing” went to number 1.
Britney Spears United States- Britney Spears scored great success in the US for scoring numerous number 1 albums. Her debut album “…Baby One More Time” (14x platinum by RIAA) became her first number 1 album, followed by the first week million-selling album “Oops… I Did it Again” (her second biggest seller with 10x platinum). She did it again on top with “Britney” and “In the Zone”. After not reaching the top for years, she came back at number 1 with “Circus” and “Femme Fatale”. She had a total of six number 1 albums. She had three releases which failed number 1, but at least secured top 10 positions. United Kingdom- Britney Spears has been successful in United Kingdom, but she never had a number 1 album in the country. At least, 7 of her albuns went to top 10. Her most successful LP in the country has been “…Baby One More Time” which reached 4x platinum by BPI and peaked at number 2.
Rihanna United States- Rihanna is currently one of the most relevant and successful female artists around. She had released eight albums, which all of them went to top 10. However, only two of those albums went to number 1, such as “Unapologetic” and her current album “Anti”. Her most successful though has been the number two album “Good Girl Gone Bad” which was certified 3x platinum by RIAA. United Kingdom-Rihanna consistently achieve success in UK. She had a total of four number 1 albums there with her first “Good Girl Gone Bad”, followed by “Loud”, which both albums were 6x platinum certified by BPI. “Talk That Talk” and “Unapologetic” went to number 1 too. Her current album “Anti” reached number 7.
Celine Dion United States-Celine Dion is actually one of the biggest selling female artists in United States. She has scored at least four albums to reach number 1. Her two first number 1 albums “Falling Into You” and “Let’s Talk About Love” went 10x platinum. She also went number 1 with “All the Way: A Decade of Songs” (compilation album) and “A New Day Has Come” (comeback album after hiatus) which went 8x and 3x platinum by RIAA, respectively. She had many more albums which went top 10. United Kingdom- Celine Dion was very successful in United Kingdom too. She had scored five number 1 albums there which started with “The Colour of My Love” which went 5x platinum. It was followed by UK million sellers “Falling Into You”, then “Let’s Talk About Love”. Her compilation album “All the Way: A Decade of Songs” went number 1 too and gone 4x platinum, and followed by her last number 1 album ” A New Day Has Come”. She scored several top 10 albums too. Certifications were given by BPI.
United States- Janet Jackson may have failed on her first two albums but she eventually scored 7 total of number 1 albums. Her breakthough album was “Control”, her first number 1 album and went 5x platinum. It was followed by the 6x platinum awardee by RIAA “Rhythm Nation 1814”. Her first adult themed “janet.” went to number 1 too and reached 8x platinum. Her next charttopping albums were “The Velvet Rope” and “All for You”. Her last two number 1 albums were “Discipline” and “Unbreakable”. Sales of both albums though were underwhelming.
United Kingdom- Janet Jackson had a number of platinum and multi-platinum albums, but she only scored one number 1 albums in UK. That was “janet.” which was certified double platinum by BPI. She had number two hit albums though. Some of her albums still sod well.

Whitney Houston United States-Whitney Houston has been very successful in the United States where she had a total of five number 1 albums. It also included her soundtrack albums where she was starred in its movies. It started out with her self-titled debut album “Whitney Houston” which eventually went 13x platinum by RIAA, and followed by her second album “Whitney” which was 9x platinum. Her next number 1 studio album has a wide gap of years if soundtracks were excluded. The album was the platinum seller “I Look to You, also her last studio album. Her soundtrack album, which the movie was topbilled by her, was “The Bodyguard” became one of the longest number 1 hits which was RIAA certified 17x platinum. It was followed by 7x platinum seller “Waiting to Exhale”. United Kingdom-Whitney Houston scored three number 1 albums in United Kingdom. It started with her second album “Whitney” followed by the soundtrack of “The Bodyguard”, which both went 7x platinum by BPI. “Whitney: The Greatest Hits” also went to number 1 with 5x platinum. Her other albums went multiplatinum too but failed to reach number including her first album which peaked at number 2 and gone 6x platinum
Alanis Morissette United States-Alanis Morissette garnered three albums to reach number 1 in America.Her first came with her very successful “Jagged Little Pill” which was 16x platinum by RIAA. Her fastest seller was “Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie” which was an eventual 3x platinum, and the platinum seller “Under Rug Swept”. Other albums went to top 10 with “So-Called Chaos” and “Havoc and Bright Lights” at the top 5. United Kingdom-Alanis Morissette scored only one number 1 albums in UK with “Jagged Little Pill” which was BPI certified 10x platinum. Her albums “Under Rug Swept” and “Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie” went to numbers 2 and 3 respectively. Thr latter went multi-platinum by BPI.
Norah Jones United States- Norah Jones has one of the biggest selling albums since 2000 in the US with “Come Away With Me”., her first number 1 album and certified 11x platinum by RIAA. Her two albums “Feels Like Home” (sold more than 1 million on its first week) and “Not too Late” became number 1 albums too. United Kingdom- Norah Jones scored three number 1 albums in United Kingdom. The first album “Come Away With Me” went number 1 with BPI certified 8x platinum. It was followed by “Feels Like Home” and “Not Too Late”.
Nelly Furtado United States-Nelly Furtado has scored one number 1 album in the US which is “Loose”. It was double platinum there, however, “Whoa Nelly” which peaked lower has scored more sales, though with the same double platinum certifications from RIAA. United Kingdom-Nelly Furtado failed to reach number 1 in UK albums chart. However, her debut “Whoa Nelly” was very successful but where it peaked at second.
Dido United States– Dido failed to reach number 1 in Billboard 200. Nevertheless, she peaked at 4th with “No Angel”, while 2nd with “Life for Rent”. The albums went 4x and 2x platinum repsectively, by RIAA. United Kingdom-Dido did well in her country where her first two albums went number 1. “No Angel” and “Life for Rent” were both big sellers in UK, with 10x platinum for the former, and 9x platinum with the latter.
Meghan Trainor United States-Meghan Trainor had a huge debut album in the United States with “Title”. The album was one of the biggest sellers in 2015 when it reached number 1 and a platinum certification from RIAA. A new album is under way and might be a charttopper again. United Kingdom-Meghan Trainor’s “Title” was also successful in United Kingdom, where it also debuted at number 1 and BPI certified platinum.
