Music 10 D’s: Daft Punk to Drive

1. Daft Punk
They were producers, songwriters and artists who are very known for their recent hit “Get Lucky” with Pharrell Williams. Two decades ago, they released the hit “Around the World”.

2. D’you Know What I Mean
Oasis had released this very lengthy song “D’you Know What I Mean” from the record breaking album “Be Here Now”. This was just like yesterday, but in fact, it is almost a 20-year old song.

3. Dookie
The breakthrough album of one of the biggest bands Green Day. According to reports, it had sold more than 20 million, their biggest seller before “American Idiot in 2004.

4. Dancing Queen
Who doesn’t know this song? It is the signature song of the Swedish group ABBA. It was covered by a bunch of artists, and can still be heard nowadays. A proof that it is a timeless hit.

5. Dashboard Confessional
Dashboard Confessional is one of my favorite bands. My favorite song from them was “Stolen” because of its good lyrics and melody. It was followed by “Vindicated”.

6. Dangerously in Love
Beyonce’s first ever solo album, which was her biggest seller. There’s a title track of that album. Before she released it, the song “Dangerously in Love” was recorded by Beyonce with bandmates as Destiny’s Child.

7. Daydream
This was one of Mariah Carey’s biggest selling albums. In fact, it was her second best, next to the album “Music Box”. That album has scored at least three singles to reach number 1 in the US.

8. Destiny’s Child
They were one of the biggest girl groups of all time. Beyonce was formerly a member of it. Their most known songs were “Say My Name”, “Independent Women” and “Survivor”.

9. Demi Lovato
She is one of the popular pop stars today. She was also one of the singers who started on Disney. Her most recent hits were “Cool for the Summer” and “Confident”.

10. Drive
The earliest hit by the band Incubus. The song was released more than a decade ago. Aside from this song, I like “Wish You Were Here” and “Are You In?”.

Album’s Singles Review: “Dangerously in Love” by Beyonce

Dangerously in Love (album)
After her success with Destiny’s Child, Beyonce released her first solo album with “Dangerously in Love”. The album contains a lot of songs about love. Beyonce had shown she can really do it on her own in this album and made her a legitimate solo album. It became a big seller worldwide reaching number 1, including US and United Kingdom. It was certified 5x platinum by RIAA already.

Work It Out
“Work It Out” was Beyonce’s first ever solo single, but wasn’t the lead single of “Dangerously in Love” since it was used for an “Austin Powers” movie. It was included in the album in some countries. It is a beautiful R&B song with retro style. The song charted in several countries including United Kingdom where it peaked at number 7. In US, the song failed to enter the Hot 100.

Crazy in Love (ft. Jay-Z)
“Crazy in Love” was the official lead single by Beyonce for her “Dangerously in Love” album. It featured his husband now Jay-Z. It is a R&B song which is catchy with its horns¬† which made it enticing.¬† The song became a worldwide hit which included United States and UK, where it went to number 1in both territories.

Baby Boy (ft. Sean Paul)
“Baby Boy” was the second single of Beyonce’s first album. It featured dancehall and reggae star Sean Paul. The song’s dancehall and Arabic sound is its asset. It was another big hit for Beyonce when it reach top 10 worldwide. In United States, it became her second number 1 hit.

Me, Myself and I
“Me, Myself and I” has been the third single of “Dangerously in Love”. The mid-tempo R&B song became Beyonce’s third US top 10 hit. In United Kingdom, it peaked at number 11.

“Naughty Girl” was the final official single of Beyonce’s album “Dangerously in Love”. The song has Arabic sound again, while its lyrics was kind of raunchy. It became Beyonce’s third top 5 hit in the US reaching number 3. It went top 10 in some countries too.
