Music 10 C’s: Coldplay to Chandelier

1. Coldplay
They are one of the favorite bands. They had a lot of hit albums and singles as well. My favorite album from the band was “Parachutes” because of its melancholic and emotional sound.

2. California Gurls
The first single from Katy Perry’s album “Teenage Dream”. It featured rapper Snoop Dogg. Katy Perry dropped her pop rock sound to purely pop in this song.

3. Can’t Buy Me Love
One of The Beatles’ most notable songs. I often hear this song back then since my brother always play the compilation album of The Beatles.

4. Christina Aguilera
One of the top female artists who emerged in 1999. She had a lot big hits. It was also the title of her first album which generated four top 3 hits on Billboard Hot 100.

5. Can’t Feel My Face
One of the biggest hits during the recent year. It was a song by Canadian singer The Weeknd. It reminded me of Michael Jackson upon hearing the song with such a funk on it.

6. Cher
She is one of the most successful female artists which her career spanned decades and still relevant. Her most successful single was “Believe” in 1998.

7. Champagne Supernova
One of Oasis’ signature songs. It is one of my favorites from the band which was released during the mid-1990’s. It was taken from their biggest album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”.

8. Cassie
She is a R&B singer who was known for the hit “Me and U”. However, she can be considered as a one-hit wonder after the success of that sole single. She is one of the half-Filipino and half-American singer.

9. Chris Brown
He was known for a lot of hits, either R&B or EDM tracks. His most widespread successful album was “Exclusive” which generated the international hit “With You”.

10. Chandelier
This was sang by one of the best voices today, Sia. Aside from scoring hits, she wrote and produced hits for other artists today. By the way, “Chandelier” has been a global hit and even reached more than a billion views on YouTube.

Young R&B singers who did big in the charts since 2000

We have seen lots of young R&B singers in 1990s who did very well in the charts. Since 2000, there are lots of young R&B singers who did well too. Here are some of them:

Ashanti
Ashanti was still young when she started. Before releasing her own record, she wrote songs for other artists which included the highly successful Jennifer Lopez. Ashanti scored several top 10 albums and multi-million selling song “Foolish”.

Mario
Mario was still a teenager when he scored her first top 5 hit. After two years, he eventually topped the charts worldwide with this breezy track “Let Me Love You”. Aside from these hit songs, he gained platinum records too.

Chris Brown
Chris Brown is one of the biggest male R&B singers around. But he started and released his first record a decade ago, and guest what? He immediately topped the US charts. Until now, his success continued as heard in his music.

Cassie
Cassie hit big with her first single “Me and U”. The catchy sound of the song helped her gain success. However, she was considered as one-hit wonder. Still, she made a mark in the industry.

Christina Milian
She was first known the time when teen pop stars such as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera are on top of the game and Milian was even considered in their category. But her music was more on R&B. Her biggest succes was the song “Dip it Low”.

Ciara
She made 3 top ten hits over her debut LP and she was even compared to Bey when she debuted. But her sound is quite different. Her first release came out before she turned 20. She was one of the young female singers then.

Rihanna
She is one of the biggest female singers around and her career since debut is already a decade old. She’s just 17 when her top 2 hit was released which was the start of her successful career.
