Boyzone- By Request / Back Again… No Matter What / Brother: Top 10 Singles in US and UK / Memorable Chorus of a Song

Boyzone- By Request (compilation album)
United States- Boyzone haven’t had a top 10 single from the album. Those singles were not released so they were not eligible to chart.

United Kingdom- Boyzone again has proven something with their chart power in the country. Four singles were released though, the other two singles were just included in the compilation album in some countries. Check what singles made to the top 10:
When the Going Gets Tough-#1
You Needed Me- #1
When You Say Nothing At All (Ronan Keating song)- #1
Everyday I Love You- #3
Four singles from the album again made it to the top 10. Though “When You Say Nothing At All” was sang solely by Ronan Keating, it was counted since it was included on the Boyzone album. Aside from that song as a number 1 hit, they topped the charts with the remakes of “When the Going Gets Tough” and “You Needed Me”. In total, the guys totaled 17 top 10 hits and 7 number 1 hits after this album.

The first three singles were remakes and what I am sharing is the original song “Everyday I Love You”. Check and enjoy the song below as shared:

Everyday I Love You (Chorus)
Cos I believe that destiny
Is out of our control (don’t you know that I do)
And you’ll never live until you love
With all your heart and soul.

Boyzone- Back Again… No Matter What (compilation album)
United States- This compilation album by Boyzone didn’t manage to be released in the country and no singles were released and even charted.

United Kingdom- Boyzone scored two singles from the album. But only one single managed to access the top 10. See that song:
Love You Anyway- #5
“Love You Anyway” is the comeback single by the guys and made it to the top 10. It was considered their 18th to do so.

Since only one single charted inside the top 10, I would be sharing that only song which is “Love You Anyway”.

Love You Anyway (Chorus)
It’s unbelievably hard to love you,
But I love you anyway.
I’ve been trying too hard not to love you,
But I love you anyway.

Boyzone- Brother
United States- This album remained unreleased in the US, so no further singles were released.

United Kingdom- Boyzone was able to score another hit single in this album. Two singles were released but check below what made it to the top 10.
Gave It All Away-#9
Boyzone apparently scored another top 10 single from the album which was “Gave It All Away” at number 9. It was their 19th ever to do so.

“Gave It All Away” was able to reach the top 10, check the song below as I am sharing it:

Gave It All Away (Chorus)
why hy hy I lay my heart down on the floor
I showed you love, you wanted more re re
but I gave it all away (cry ry ry ry cry ry ry ry)

Boyzone- Where We Belong: Top 10 Singles in US and UK / Memorable Chorus of a Song

Boyzone- Where We Belong
United States- Boyzone’s album “Where We Belong” was released in United States, and even charted at the Billboard 200, However, no singles ever reached the top 10. Though, their song “No Matter What” did well at Adult Contemporary, which is a component chart of Billboard.

United Kingdom- Boyzone remained as one of the biggest boybands in the country for scoring a lot of hits. The lads scored a lot of top 10 hits with their previous albums, but they also did well with the singles from this album. Here are the top 10 singles from “Where We Belong” in UK:
Baby Can I Hold You- #2
All That I Need-#1
No Matter What-#1
I Love the Way You Love Me-too #2
Apparently, all the singles from “Where We Belong” not only reached the top 10, rather top 2. Two singles were number 1 hits such as the original songs “All That I Need” and “No Matter What”. The cover songs “Baby Can I Hold You” and “I Love the Way You Love Me” were number 2 hits. All in all, as the singles from the album was included, the guys scored 13 top 10 and 4 number 1 singles at that time. They became the biggest boyband at the time in UK with their hit singles and album sales.

Since Boyzone had two number one hits, “All That I Need” and “No Matter What”, I’ll choose “No Matter What” between the two. It was their most successful single ever for reaching number 1 in most countries and eligible to chart in component charts in US. Check and tryto enjoy the song being shared below:

No Matter What (few lines from the song)
And I will keep you safe and strong
And shelter from the storm
No matter where it’s barren
A dream is being born

Boyzone- A Different Beat: Top 10 Singles in US and UK / Memorable Chorus of a Song

Boyzone-A Different Beat
United States- Boyzone had tried to break the American market and released the album there. However, nothing became a hit. “Mystical Experience” was released but it didn’t even charted.

United Kingdom- Boyzone has been super popular in United Kingdom. After their success with their singles from “Said and Done”, the guys scored something from “A Different Beat which they haven’t they haven’t achieved with the predecessor. See first what singles from them made it to top 10:
A Different Beat- #1
Isn’t It a Wonder- #2
Picture of You- #2
As you saw from the list, the guys scored two number 1 singles from the album which “Said and Done” never had from its five top 10s. Also, the other two songs peaked at number 2. It means all of their singles from the album went to top 2. The number 1 single “Words” is an original song by the BeeGees. “A Different Beat” is a real original by the lads and showcased a new sound with such a meaningful words. By the way, “Picture of You” was featured in the album in some countries only. Also, it was part of a soundtrack of a comedy movie.

The guys’ biggest hit from the album was “Words” which has gone Gold Record awarded by BPI. “A Different Beat” is an original song but I decided to share “Picture of You” because they rarely do upbeat songs. Also, the song is good and it became very notable for being featured on “Mr Bean” movie, and was a popular hit in Asia. Check the song below with its chorus.

Picture of You (Chorus)
I had a picture of you in my mind
never knew it could be so wrong
Why’d it take me so long just to find
the friend that was there all along.

Music 10 B’s: Britney Spears to Bleed it Out

1. Britney Spears
She became one of the biggest female artists ever. She had a number of successful singles and can already be considered as a music icon. Her albums sold millions which “… Baby One More Time”, her first single ever, was her most successful.

2. Back at One
It is a R&B ballad by Brian McKnight from the album which is also called “Back at One”. It is a  beautiful track which gave Brian McKnight a top 10 hit in the US.

3. Breakaway
Kelly Clarkson’s second album which became a multiple platinum album. The title track of the record had been a top 10 in the US. I heard an Avril Lavigne influence on the song, as it was re-written by her.

4. Backstreet Boys
They were the biggest selling boyband ever which was based on sales from albums and singles. They were my sister and cousin’s favorite band and I admit not being a fan of them.

5. Break Me Shake Me
One of the tracks and singles released from the album by Savage Garden from their self-titled album. It is a pop rock track with heavier sound.

6. Bubbly
Hearing just the title, it sounds like really bubbly and refreshing. The song which was a song by Colbie Caillat became her biggest hit single ever. It is just a lovely and light song.

7. Boyzone
They were an Irish boyband who became popular with ballads and cover songs. They were one of the biggest groups in the United Kingdom then. I remember when they covered “Words by Bee Gees, which became their first number 1 hit.

8. Bad Romance
One of the most successful tracks by Lady Gaga. Aside from big sales, it was her most viewed video on YouTube too. It was taken from her extended play “The Fame Monster EP”.

9. Butterfly
Mariah Carey’s album which sounds more on R&B and hip-hop. There’s also a track which was released as the second single called “Butterfly”. It is oen of her lovely ballads.

10. Bleed It Out
One of the singles released from Linkin Park’s third studio album “Minutes to Midnight”. I noticed the different sound pf the band in that song.

No Matter What
“No Mattet What” was the most notable track from the album “Where We Belong”. The ballad is good but I can sense cheesiness on it. Still, it became their most popular song worldwide as it peaked at number 1in most countries worldwide.

Boyzone- Said and Done: Top 10 Singles in US and UK and Memorable Chorus of a Song

Boyzone- Said and Done
United States- Despite the release in United States, the singles from the album failed to chart there. Perhaps, Americans are looking for other sound or their tastes differs from the lads’ music. Or maybe, they don’t prefer boybands at that time.

United Kingdom- Boyzone did very well in United Kingdom. “Said and Done” has produced five top 10 hits which is rare before. Those five top 10 hits were the following:
Love Me for a Reason- #2
Key to My Life- #3
So Good- #3
Father and Son- #2
Coming Home Now- #4
All of Boyzone’s singles were five being released in United Kingdom. Apparently, all of those singles reached the top 5. Their highest charting singles peaked at number 2. Clearly, “Love Me for a Reason” and “Father and Son” were number 2 hits. But with regards to sales total, “Father and Son” was their biggest seller when it reached platinum as certified by BPI. Actually, all of their songs from the album got certified by BPI which makes them the top boyband at that time in United Kingdom next to Take That.

The guys’ highest charters were the number 2 hits in UK, “Love Me for a Reason” and “Father and Son”. However, both songs were remake versions. So the song I decided to share was “Key to My Life” which was a number 3 hit in United Kingdom. Also, it is the most lyrical song among the remaining hits compared to “So Good” which was also a number 3 hit. Here’s the chorus and watch the video:

Key to My Life (Chorus)
All of my life the doors have been closed now
And all of my dreams have been locked up inside
But you came along and captured my heart, girl
You’re the key to my life

Album’s Singles Review: “A Different Beat” by Boyzone

A Different Beat (album)
Boyzone gained success in several markets with their debut album “Said and Done”. The album’s success prompted the group for their second album which was eventually title “A Different Beat”. As they usually do, the album contained pop songs but more edgier in this album. They also had a number of remakes in the album. The album became a hit in some parts of Europe and Asia. But it was very popular in United Kingdom where it reached number 1 again and certified 3x platinum by BPI.

“Words” has been the lead single of “A Different Beat” and it was an original song by Bee Gees. Their version became a hit.In Asia, it was a chart-topping song. It reached number 1 in United Kingdom too.

Album’s Singles Reviews: Boyzone “Said and Done”

Boyzone is one of the boybands around when Take That is dominating the charts. They scored a lot of hits from their debut album “Said and Done”. The LP is more on pop and ballad, which a lot were cover songs.  The album went multiplatinum in UK where it went to number one.

Working My Way Back to You
This song has been not just Boyzone’s first single, but also first remake single. It was original by The Four Seasons. The song was not released internationally and was a hit in their home, Ireland.
Rate: 4.75 out of 10

Love Me For a Reason
This was the group’s first international hiy doing very well in Europe and Asia. Through this song, it made the boyband just another group who often do covers. It was a number two hit in UK.
Rate: 7.0 out of 10

Key to My Life
Boyzone released this which became their first single as an original song. Upon hearing the song, I believed the guys can put up an original song. It became their 2nd top 3 hit in United Kingdom.
Rate: 7.5 out of 10

So Good
So the guys can also dance! This song was their first upbeat single. It still sounds the usual dance pop songs though. It went to the top 3 in UK again.
Rate: 6.75 out of 10

Father and Son
Boyzone released this single which is a cover again which is originally sung by Cat Stevens. Ronan Keating who sang the entire song with slight background vocals from the other guys sang it well. It became their biggest seller from the album in UK after reaching number 3.
Rate: 7.25 out of 10

Coming Home Now
This song is the last single off “Said and Done” and it is their lowest peaking single in the UK where it reached number 4. Still, the guys scored a record with all their five singles from the album went to UK top 10. To be honest, this is my fave track from the album as I can sense Irish pop sound on it.
