Be Here Now (album)
Oasis did very well with their albums “Definitely Maybe” and “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” which both had gone multi-platinums. In 1997, they decided to release their follow-up “Be Here Now”. The album still has the sound heard in their previous albums, but the songs from the album were too long. Also, it has more noise on it compared to their second album. The album was a hit worldwide especially in UK when it recorded the fastest selling album in the country and set 6x platinum status according to BPI. In US, it reached number 2, higher than any of their previous albums. It was certified platinum there by RIAA.
D’You Know What I Mean?
“D’You Know What I Mean?” was released to lead the album “Be Here Now”. The song was known for its length. It was more than 7 minutes and the introduction was too long. The song still became a hit reaching number 1 in UK as well as some European countries. It only charted in alternative songs in US.

Stand By Me
“Stand By Me” was the second single from Oasis third album “Be Here Now”. The song sounds better to me than “D’You Know What I Mean?”. It is still lengthy with its almost 5 minutes duration. It became a hit in UK reaching number 2, and charted well in Asia.
